Surprised to hear that all our home games are category C....

Tue Sep 10, 2013 6:56 am

I was chatting to a copper mate on Sloper Road at the Everton game and questioned the huge Police presence outside the ground even though fans now mix and trouble seems remote. He told me that every game this season is classed as Category C(football violence very likely to happen) regardless who the opposition is!
He agreed that it was a complete waste of Police resources, personally I think it's a disgrace wasting the tax payers money in such a way and something the local council should take a good look at. In my opinion they could get away with having just 10 coppers posted on that road and that would be more than enough to control the crowds. There must be around 100 coppers outside the ground at any one time, just kicking their heals and wasting the public purse.

I was told the same, the POlice will be out in force and on full alert for all our Home games.
Before the Everton game Cardiff fans mixed and drank with Everton fans in the Prince of Wales and the Ninian Park Pub.

I think those that make these decisions need to explain their reasons to the public.

Your average none football fan will point the finger at the Cardiff fan accusing him of costing the tax payer. The fact that it is one of the safest grounds to visit with below average problems does not come into the thinking due to pass history. Just how long does society hold a grudge?

I think a lot of it is down to the away fans , over the years Cardiff have upset a lot of fans. Some of these will be looking for payback.

The police may have a point there has been fighting in both home games so far, if police presence was minimal then it cud kick right off

Probably a good thing in our first season in the PL. If everything goes well (& there is no reason why not) then in future seasons (yes we stay up :ayatollah: ) the Police presence is bound to decrease.

Id say it's more to do with our clubs reputation from the past. Regardless of what's happened in the last 5 years

Does the cost not get passed on to the club? Could be that we pay for police presence within the ground and car park but the council pays on sloper road etc?
