Im not sure how it would work in the picture but when we built the scarlets stadium it was all pre made concrete slabs sitting on steal beams more or less

Concrete slabs/steel whatever aint too bad, I do deliveries to wembley and the bottom tier is on hydrolic jacks

What colour will they be? Don't let this question ruin the thread, I just genuinely want to know!

They will be blue, for now

Didn't Borley make a big thing at one time about the fact that those corners could never be filled in, as they were essential to provide air to the pitch? Maybe that all changed, when we kicked Cardiff Blues out

Great news, allows more fans to experience the days like that against Man City.
Plus, obviously the financial gains too.
Bluebirds growing, on the road to be the big club we've always wanted to be.

Air to the pitch? There's a massive bloody hole at the top of the whole stadium for air to get to the pitch.

The new seats will be red.........let's the debate commence
Sun Sep 08, 2013 7:39 am
Really? Well that will look stupid.

Anyone notice that the girders do not go down to pitch side?
Perhaps only half filled corners allowing air flow?

I'm guessing that's what it'll be. I'm sure access is still required through the corners, so it may just go halfway down.

If they fill in all four sides that is about 700 more seats.
Great stuff this. 700 x £40 a ticket = £28,000 extra income a game.
If you consider the extra 5,000 seats due next year. Then all these extensions equate to about an extra £5 million in income.
This is a very wise move by Tan especially with FFP being introduced next year.

I don't think they will be doing all 4 corners, I'm sure I read that 2 are required for emergency exit.
Sun Sep 08, 2013 9:50 am
They can't fill all four corners in only grandstand /canton corner and the away end corner ..canton/ ninian corner is the only access for lorries into the stadium and grandstand/family stand is access for ground staff vehicles

Exciting times , lets hope the team can ensure the crowds keep flocking through the gates.

If you look to the far left of the picture you can see a beam carrying on down to the bottom. So I'm guessing the rest will follow suit, meaning the whole gap will be filled. There might be a step in this section due to the geometry of the corner. It might be easier to do it this way. If it was filled in when the stadium was originally built then the section may have been designed differently to accommodate it. Just a guess though.

People keep saying that you can only fill in 2 corners but how do other grounds manage? I don't see other grounds needing 2 big empty corners?
Sun Sep 08, 2013 12:42 pm
Only one corner required to allow access for those daisy things?? for repairs to floodlights and vehicles

Pretty sure FFP started this season but the cycle is 3 years meaning FFP should really start to muscle in during the 2015/16 season.
Losses must not exceed £105m during that cycle. So the thinking is each club must not lose more than £35m per season although in theory a club could lose £100m this season provided it didn't lose more than £5m over the following 2 seasons.
But you make a good point in that VT is thinking ahead.

Finally filling in those atrocious gaps. Good news.
