" Cardiff World Cup players "

Fri Sep 06, 2013 9:18 am

Been looking at the squad and realised We could easily have 6 players at next years World Cup .

Personally can't remember the last player we had at a World Cup ? Anybody know ?

Gary medel - Chile look nailed on to nick a top 4 spot in South America
Aron gunnarsson - Iceland looking good in third one point off second
Kimbo - Korea sitting second in there group
Caulker and Campbell - if they both have good seasons they could easily steel a spot in he squad
Odemwingie - Nigeria need a point to qualify
Cornelius - Denmark struggling but is possible

Unbelievable for a club of our size :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I honestly believe that if Andrew Taylor keeps playing and improving as he did last season he will have a great chance of going :ayatollah: I know Baines and Cole are in prime position but with a great season from Taylor who knows!!

Would love to see Aron Gunnarsson at the World Cup. I would adopt Iceland as my World Cup team if they did make it. :ayatollah:

Me too. Would be nice to support someone there for a good reason.

Think of the value it would add to our squad. World cup players means higher sale value and prestige to attract more players.

taylor he'l be overlooked like swansea's players were imo regardless,

not a dig at campbell but english strikers dominate the attack in premier league games, they usually have bundles of chances per game and always look like scoring.

so far I think campbells chandes has been limited - this may change

Can't remember the last time we had a current player at the World Cup.

Was it Tony Vidmar for Australia? I seem to remember he had to drop out of the World Cup and I think he may have left us by then?

Junichi Inamoto? He was only on loan to us of course so he probably wouldn't count anyway.

Only think well have 3

Medel
Kimbo
Caulker( if he's picked)

Hope Iceland can qualify though. Odemwingie won't be in the Nigeria squad even I they qualify there coach doesn't seem to like there older "big name players"

Cole, Baines, Rose and Shaw will all be ahead of Taylor. He doesn't have much chance whatsoever.

Anyone is idiotic if they think Campbell and Taylor even have a chance of getting called up let alone get a game.

Caulker will probably get into the squad, not sure about games.
