A forum for all things Cardiff City

I've been around the shops in Bridgend and Cardiff the past day and saw one shop selling CCFC shirts but yet plenty selling Man U, Liverpool, Chelsea etc. Is there any reason why local shops aren't pushing their local team more? Is it to do with the licensing deals bigger clubs have with retailers? I feel a little sad whenever I see kids wearing shirts of the big English teams when we have our own Premier League club in our area... Be great to see lots more people wearing CCFC shirts and people saying to those wearing Man U shirts "why are you wearing that if you live in Cardiff?"

I work in a sports shop in Bridgend, I have been told we are going to sell Cardiff city tops soon. I think the main reason for no-one local selling the shirts was only done to the club, think they wanted people to visit the club shop and buy other stuff. Also if the bought from the club, they would receive majority of the profits.
But yea my understanding is that we are getting the tops soon and I can't wait! Discount! Haha

good news
i can only remember sports flair selling city shirts back in the day
its not as if anyone else in cardiff need to sell shirts now as the ccs is so accessible but further afield then yes they should be on sale
now we are premier league why not... you see man u, liverpool, man city, arsenal shirts and so on, even celtic and rangers
also i dont see why stores like argos and asda and so on dont sell merchandise, you can get chelsea boxer shorts in asda leckwith but not cardiff city ones
long over due

Only the top four clubs really sell away from their own grounds.
Here in Derby, Nottingham or Leicester you will not find a local club shirt in any of the major outlets and that includes JJBs that is across the road from Pride Park.

I remember a shop in the St Davids 2 selling City shirts but they were incredibly overpriced even near the end of the season, shop went bust really soon I think. I know town and the CCS aren't that far apart but it wouldn't be bad at all if we had our own shop in town. Everton have one I'm sure of so it'd be good, the shopping facilities we have are really good and I think we could capitalize on quite a few customers if we put up our own shop in St Davids

People around there might be interested to know that they sell Nottingham Forest shirts in the Cardiff City club shop.

I LOVE people who make comments like that!
Are you the Hilarious person in the pub who never makes a joke, but always sarcastically tells others that theirs are funny?

I would prefer a blue one too but let's see more CCFC and less man utd and liverpool shirts on those playing footy in the parks in Cardiff and the Valleys... I understand Derby not selling shirts but CCFC are Premier League!

I asked sportsdirect.com in Haverfordwest as they had Manure, Chelski, Scousers kits on sale but no Cardiff and even no Swansea (being the nearest Prem team) and they said Cardiff only licence the sale of kits to limited outlets
