They had to £200.000 of Merthyr Council when they agreed to allow Merthyr Football Club to be part of the Community and they can all use it as well.

I'd love the Merthyr pre-season game to return its the only thing I miss from the Dave Jones era

Better pitch than half the football league teams. Well done Merthyr, hope they rise up the leagues. Would be good not just for the club but for the community too.

My mate Ryan Prosser plays for Merthyr and he's going to love that pitch with his pace and dribbling ability!

What sort of pitch is it then?

It's a 3G artificial pitch, some of the funding I would imagine has come from Penydarren Park being renammed the cigg-e stadium
