Cardiff City v Tottenham Hotspur fixture moved due to Spurs' Europa League commitments

Cardiff will now play Spurs on Sunday, September, 22 at 4pm after the fixture was moved back a day by the Premier League


Cardiff City’s next Premier League home match against Spurs has been moved back a day to Sunday, September 22 with a 4pm kick-off.

That is due to Spurs’ involvement in a Europa League tie v Norwegian club Tromso the previous Thursday.

Cardiff are due to play West Ham at Upton Park in a Capital One League Cup tie on Tuesday, September 24, but there is no news of that game being moved.

Manager Malky Mackay made 11 changes to his starting line-up for the League Cup trip to Accrington Stanley in the last round.

Even if it is not on Sky Sports you will be able to watch it out there on one of the foreign sports channels they have abroad. Just ask around.

We're due to play at West Ham in the Capital One Cup 2 days after the Spurs fixture and away to Fulham the following Saturday, so it'll be interesting to see whether Malky opts to change the West Ham game to the Wednesday, or leaves it on the Tuesday, where I suspect he'll play a mix of the fringe players & Development side!

Nothing to do with the premier league - all about spurs playing in Europe on Thursday and needing a rest. Hardly rocket science. Would happen even if it was a championship fixture.

I suspect that'll be the case, but Malky may decide to play predominantly DVP players and keep the first team squad fresher for Fulham away, unless that game gets moved to the Sunday as well!

Would have happened had we played Wigan in the Championship this season, so to blame it on the premiership is wrong.

4pm is 1 hour later than 3pm. I hope this makes the difference more transparent for you.

Oh please. A championship team in europe is a rarity. Plus thats a 1 in 23 chance of game moving to Sunday.

Theres ususally 3 PL teams in europa league sometimes 4 if kod early from CL. So 4/19 teams could move to Sunday because of Europa league alone. 1 in 5 chance of Europa distrupting a PL fixture.
