Got to be Medel for me. Though Caulker and Cornelius' potential is exciting. :ayatollah:

we needed a CDM in Medel urgently to let Whitts and KimBo loose, but Caulker is a very good player!

ary Medel is one of the best signings Cardiff City will ever make, says Malky Mackay
4 Sep 2013 00:30
The Chilean midfielder was a club record buy for Cardiff City and manager Malky Mackay says he could become a legend at Cardiff City

Malky Mackay has told how he rates Chilean midfield terrier Gary Medel ‘one of the best signings Cardiff City will ever make’.

The Bluebirds manager underlined how highly he rates Medel after the man from Santiago produced a masterclass during Cardiff’s goalless Premier League draw against Everton following on from impressive displays against West Ham and Manchester City.

Medel has now joined up with Chile’s squad for their World Cup qualifier against Venezuela on Friday, but such is the impression he has made in his short time in Cardiff, that Mackay was moved to offer high praise.

“He is one of the best signings this club will ever make,” said the City boss

“I don’t think that’s over dramatic.

“He has been two minutes in the door, a Spanish speaker with limited English and yet he has taken to our club like a duck to water. There is a confidence about him – an aura which underlines he deserves to be playing Premier League football.

“He is a natural leader and as his English gets better he will develop even more. He settled immediately and gained immediate respect from all players.”

City fitness coach Martyn Pert speaks Spanish and has been helping Medel communicate with Mackay, who added: “Gary is booked in for English lessons and will, like Kim Bo-Kyung, make progress with that.

“Gary will improve. I have told him I believe there is more improvement to come and we will do everything possible to help him.

“He has enjoyed being in Cardiff, looking round the city, being at the training ground and our stadium. Gary is loving every minute of it.

“He is a top, top Chilean international who is going to the World Cup.”
Medel’s Chile are on the verge of qualifying for the finals in Brazil next year – Kim’s South Korea have already made sure of their place – and he is likely to play for his country twice during the current international break.

Chile have three World Cup qualifiers still to play and the first of those is against Venezuela in Santiago on Friday, while the squad then fly back to Europe where they have a match against Spain in Geneva next Tuesday.
