Everton are the only team to have made a profit if you consider these sums alone and not wages, other incomes etc. They have loaned quality, but they will not be their assets come the end of the season.
I commend Malky for not loaning anyone. Why help grow the asset of another club when you can nurture what you have?

In my opinion Malky has done some fantastic business and has bought quality players. That's the key to the headline not the spend level but whoever would have thought we'd outspend Manchester United?!

You can move us up two places based on net expenditure.
We did not recoup any monies whereas Southampton and Liverpool sold enough players to make their overall expenditure LESS than ours.

We are actually the 4th biggest net spenders
Whatever you think of him fair play to Tan

To be honest, the loan market is ridiculous and should only ever be used for emergency deals sanctioned by the FA.
The loan market is ruining players. Players like Lukaku go to one club, then come back, get shipped off elsewhere as they are still deemed not ready, then the cycle continues.
He'd have been far better spending 2-3 years at one club.

This is very true.
Another reason why I am glad Malky hasn't brought any hype players on loan with no long term chance for them to settle. Loan players also have no long term benefit if the team they goes to does well. If an option to buy is part of the contract then that's a different matter.
But like I said before, why help build the reputation, inflate the value and spend staff time educating a player (asset) who won't be yours at the end of the season?
In the words of Howard Marks - "Grow your own"... He probably said that.
