" Banners mocking dead football fans almost spark riot at derby game. Wrexham v Chester
September 3rd, 2013

Fans of Wrexham and Chester slammed those waving the banners at Saturday’s Skrill Premier League match.

Twisted football fans unfurled banners mocking two dead supporters of a rival team, sparking off a near riot at a derby match.

One banner waved by Wrexham fans read, “Come join Lunty in Hell”, referring to Chester FC supporter Danny Lunt, who hanged himself on a building site 18 months ago.

Another read: “2 dead fans and 1 dead club,” poking fun at David Spencer, who fell 60ft to his death in 2002 from Chester’s city walls.

Visiting Chester supporters responded by setting off a smoke bomb and ripping up seats.

Stewards trying to confiscate the flags were attacked along with police.

North Wales police vowed to find those responsible.

A spokesman said: “Two people were arrested and there will be more after we have gone through the video footage.”

Fans of both clubs slammed those waving the banners at Saturday’s Conference Premier match at Wrexham.

Stupid. Never understood why people take things that far. Edgy banter is fine. Also, if groups of like minded blokes want to meet up and kick the shite out of each other, then that's fine as well, as long as nobody else gets hurt.

Stuff like this though, is taking it to the kind of level you see in Turkey, Poland amd Argentina - no need for it at all. I've never taken any pleasure in other teams' tragedies and misfortune and I can't understand those who do.

No not referring to this forum but at derby games. Didn't hear it last time at the Liberty but at the first cup game and first league game at the Liberty it sadly made an appearance.

Every club has this element. EVERY CLUB!!

Man u fans and Liverpool fans are probably the most high profile.

But i have seen it at many grounds from Hibernian to Cardiff.

Should haves lined up players/staff of both teams all pointing towards these idiotic few. Then a loud speaker announcement publicly humiliating them, drawing all eyes on them....

Disgrace.

Where did these chants originate?

Former Swansea & man utd player Alan Davies committed suicide by gassing himself in a car and the horse song came from when Swansea hooligan Terry Coles was trampled to death by a police horse now in Northampton now if it was Cardiff, swansea would be doing the same thing singing about cardiff thats rivalries for ya just my opinion :laughing6: not that I condone it but I'm only saying

It was Rotherham and he wasnt a hooligan.

You are also wrong with your claim regarding "if it was the other way around". How many times have you heard or seen online anyone mocking the death of Mikey dye? None.

There are people who only a few months ago were mocking the death of both Alan Davies and Terry Coles that still post on this forum today. Thats the difference.
