How old is he? Is he one for the future or is he now surplus following Odemwingie signing? Also Mason must surely now go on loan?

Keep Mason. Maynard has been unlucky and costly for us but only scored goals at lower levels. He was shite at the Spammers

Maynard is an excellent player. Very unlucky with that injury at Millwall. Deserves a chance, and hopefully he'll take it. Top bloke, too.

Was injured for the majority of last season. Can definitely do a job for us and score a few goals. Scored a class goal in the cup match

Maynard is good, Mason on the other hand has more potential and isnt as injury prone.
To be honest we are having a bad run with Maynard, West Ham let him go because he isnt good enough, came to us got long term injury. Now hes coming back into a league where he cant do as much as he could in the 2nd tier, Hense sub and starting cup matches.
He would ave done more for us last season than he will this season so hes becoming dead money sad to say. Hes also at the age where your muscles are starting to get to their peak so he wont get much better.

I'm not so sure about that.
Maynard hardly had a sniff of the Prem at West Ham and simply does not fit the Allardyce profile.
I think he deserves a chance and I certainly thought he he looked sharp and made a difference/contribution when he came on against Man City.
I think/hope he proves a few people wrong.
As for Mason. He looks to have potential but at what level remains to be seen. He is easily pushed off the ball and he does lack initial acceleration. He's fine once into his stride but the first 5 yards is a weakness and could be a problem at Prem, less so at Championship.
Mason would benefit from games at Championship level, Maynard needs to be tested at Prem so we know once and for all.
Just my opinion

..isn't going anywhere. He looked great start of last season and we would have had an excellent season I'm sure. We all saw what it meant to him to score in the Hull game.
Walks into my 25.

I would like to see Maynard go out on loan until Jan on the agreement that he plays every game
For that club. Out of all our strikers Maynards needs to get some consistent game time
And get into the habit if scoring goals. To have him coming on for 10-15 minutes here and there
Can't be good for his progression

Don't agree that this should or will happen, as all we have to do is pick up a couple of injuries and we'll have little in the way of back up options up front, who are ahead of Maynard in the pecking order!
