In the paper, reports say u spent 4mill on your new striker with a 3 year deal :?and he is 32 .
We bid 1.8 because of his age but both u and stoke started bidding .

Re: Surely not?

It was officially £2.5m.

Get your facts right before you attempt to take the piss out of our signing, the ironic thing is that you wanted to buy him.

Must be true then :laughing5:

Re: Surely not?

Correct - not.

£2.5 million for as 2 year.

His premier league experience may prove to be invaluable for us.

Its great getting a 22 year old Spanish U21 international on loan, but if Bony has an extended settling in period or Michu gets an injury its a lot of pressure on a kid with little experience.

Had he gone to Swansea, you'd have been crowing that he'd chosen you over us, bye!

Re: Surely not?

It is a £4m deal. Odemwingies agent confirmed it. Its £2.25m up front and could rise to £4m depending on bonuses.

Go by fee not what he potentially can cost in bonuses that he may not receive!

So it will only be a £4 million deal if certain criteria is met and if it is met, then it'll mean he'd have done well for us and we'd almost certainly be guaranteed another season in the Premier League at least, which would mean another minimum guaranteed £62 million in Sky money, plus our other approximate £30 million in other income like ticket sales, advertising and shirt sales etc!

Depending in what the criteria is of course. Many are appearance based.

But it is a £4m deal. What the initial sum is, is irrelevant.

The initial sum isn't irrelevant, as that's what the minimum amount is which we'll have to pay, unless certain criteria is met!

If the criteria isn't met, then the £4 million will become irrelevant!

Re: Surely not?

Tue Sep 03, 2013 12:06 pm

It was £2.25 million, but if it does rise to £4 million that means we have a top ten finish and PO has scored 20+ goals.
But as we are a debt free club with a billionaire owner, we can afford it. :)

The deal is worth £4m.

Just like offering a player 15k a week and 15k oer appearance. The deal is worth 30k a week.

Have you been having lessons off Swansea Lad, it'll only be a £4 million deal if certain criteria is made, which would mean that the signing had been successful and he'd have earned his money!

ATM the deal is only worth the upfront fee, which is reportedly £2.25 - £2.5 million!

You can say it as much as you like, however the deal is £4m. If it wasnt then Swansea wouldn't have pulled out as they were willing to pay £2.5m.
