Odemwingie Fee

Tue Sep 03, 2013 12:24 am

2.3 mill up front and could rise as high as 4 mill based on appearances, goals, and if we stay up.

This is from his agent.

If he scores the goals to keep us up, it's worth it. :ayatollah:

Exactly, WalesOnline had it at 2.25m and I think Tony Rivers and that were saying 2.5m so it sounds about right. If it goes above that it will be because he has proved he is worth it :ayatollah:

Frankly the way valuations are going at the moment with FellainI for 28 mill and James McCarthy for 13 mill, you've gotta say it ain't a bad deal.

If it ends up at 4m it means he woul have scored goals and performed well, likely keeping us in the league.Great buy

Not necessarily. Many are appearance based. It could be triggered after 10 goals, if he gets that in 3 years then £4m for 3 goals a year with no resale value is steep.

most are dependant on staying in the prem, which, if it happens, will be money well spent :ayatollah:

No they arent. Only a few clubs would be candidates for that kind of clause so most certainly arent based on survival. However, if it is based in survival he could play no part in the survival.

I remember Swansea loaning that hungarian striker from watford and sent him back after 2 weeks because he was injured but upon promotion they had to pay watford hundreds of thousands because there was a promotion bonus in the deal. Although he played little to no oart in the promotion.

a newly promoted club, such as we are, would almost certainly have that type of clause in a deal.

Of course, this is a ll purely specualtion, either way i think its a good signing for us

I wouldnt say almost certainly at all, but it is likely. The point however is, its still a £4m deal. If the club survives it may do so without odemwingies help at all, he may be awful - yet the fee would still be £4m.

Just playing devils advocate.

Plus add ons. So if he doesn't perform it won't be, if he does and we stay in the premier league then what's another 1.5m in the grand scheme of things. Good deal all round.

It is probably nothing to do with performance. If you stay up and aopearances are the main ones. So you oaying the full £4m by no means guarantees him playing well in any way shape or form.

The only performance related one would be goals and thats odd considering hes likely to play on the wing. So i doubt thats the case.

appearences arent performance related??? :?

Andy carroll made 44 painful apearances for liverpool too. Anyone who suggests he was a good signing is off their cake box.
