Cardiff City boosted their attacking options with the £2.5m deadline day signing of Peter Odemwingie from West Brom.
The 32-year-old frontman becomes Malky Mackay’s eighth and final signing of the summer as the Bluebirds look to continue their good start to life in the Premier League.
Odemwingie was in the Welsh capital for his medical yesterday and then put pen to paper on a two-year deal with the option of another year.
He will now join up with his new teammates who return to action after the international break with a big trip to Hull.
“I’m delighted to sign a player with a proven record of scoring in the Premier League,” said Mackay.
“Peter’s record speaks for itself.
“He’s versatile, got great pace and does bring us that bit of experience we need.
“He’s an outstanding footballer at Premier League level, an intelligent footballer with a bit of guile.
“I spent a lot of time with him and he’s an intelligent and thoughtful person too.
“For the price we have got him for it is a great deal for Cardiff City Football Club.”
At 32, Odemwingie also provides welcome experience in the Bluebirds dressing room, with Mackay adding: “I think that was important, particularly in our forwards department.
