Manchester United sign £27.5m Marouane Fellaini from Everton
Manchester United appear to have beaten the deadline to complete the signing of Marouane Fellaini from Everton.
In what appears to be boss David Moyes’ only permanent deal on transfer deadline day, he has finally managed to secure the successful resolution of his summer-long pursuit of the Belgian international, who joins the Premier League champions for £27.5m.
The 25-year-old handed in a transfer request in the closing stages of deadline day in a bid to force through a move to Old Trafford and despite the late hour of the deal, United managed to complete the necessary paperwork in time.
Meanwhile, there are also reports of United having wrapped up a deal for Real Madrid defender Fabio Coentrao on a season-long loan.
However, it seems United have missed out on deals for both Everton defender Leighton Baines and – in a bizarre twist - Athletic Bilbao’s Ander Herrera.
A deal for Herrera seemed close to completion before news leaked through three United officials who had arrived a La Liga headquarters were in fact impostors and had nothing to do with the club or the deal for the player.

What's weird is, I didn't realise that Everyon had bought MF for £15m
And with the way good PL players prices inflate, ide be feeling disapointed not to get 30m for him if I were Everton gaffer.
Not saying he's necessarily a 30m player as such, just inflation for others seems a lot more for other players

Manchester United finally secured the signature of Everton's Marouane Fellaini during the closing stages of transfer deadline day for £27.5m.
The 25-year-old midfielder had been linked with a move to Old Trafford throughout the summer and was the subject of a failed £36m joint-bid with left-back Leighton Baines.
Having been given permission by Belgium to delay joining up with the national squad ahead of their World Cup qualifier with Scotland, Fellaini handed in a transfer request late on Monday in a bid to push through the move.
One hour after the transfer deadline passed at 11pm, it was revealed that United had eventually secured their man after completing the necessary paperwork.
Everton boss Roberto Martinez has been unhappy with United's pursuit of his players and called the original joint bid for Fellaini and Baines as "derisory and insulting", but it will be good news for United boss David Moyes who is reunited with his former player.
Fellaini leaves Goodison Park having joined them from Standard Liege six years ago for £15m.
