Would have loved to get him but with the connections I suppose it was his first choice. The jacks were certain they were going to get him over the summer.

I feel we are one big signing away from a very decent side

I think we are one big signing as well, and players like Lakaku are that big signing, with clarke and mourinhos relationship he was always going to go back there.

I don't know who Lakaku is but at least it isn't Lukaku! :laughing6: In all seriousness though he is a good signing for them and we should probably have attempted to get him.

LUKAKU LOANED OUT

Posted on: Mon 02 Sep 2013
Romelu Lukaku will spend a second season on loan at a Barclays Premier League club with a move to Everton completed.

The 20-year-old striker's season at Goodison Park will follow on from a year of significant progress at West Bromwich Albion when he featured in 38 games and scored 17 goals, becoming the highest-scoring teenager in the Premier League since Michael Owen in 1998/99.

Lukaku, who is in the Belgium squad for their World Cup qualifier against Scotland on Friday, made three substitute appearances for Chelsea at the start of this season and since joining from Anderlecht in the summer of 2011, has made a total of four starts and 11 substitute appearances for the Blues.

Romelu Lukaku has confirmed his transfer deadline day move from Chelsea to Everton on a season-long loan deal.

The Belgian striker elected to move to Goodison Park despite strong interest from West Brom, for whom he scored 17 goals in 35 appearances last season.

The 20-year-old Lukaku tweeted: "Signed @Everton on a season loan :-)"

Lukaku had returned to Stamford Bridge from The Hawthorns at the end of last season, but found his first-team chances had not improved under new boss Jose Mourinho.

Everton were also set to add Wigan midfielder James McCarthy to their squad after reportedly agreeing a fee with the Latics, while a loan move for Manchester City's Gareth Barry was set to be finalised.

Will make Everton a loge stronger they were desperate for a proper striker.....

But then they sell Fellaini, so probably maybe even backwards slightly, as je was involved in everything for them...
