" ALL COMPLETED WITH 2 MINS TO GO BEFORE DEADLINE "

CARDIFF CITY TODAY COMPLETED THE SIGNING OF PETER ODEMWINGIE.

Peter Odemwingie ‏@OdemwingieP 1m
To WBA fans, its a pity I had no chance to say goodbye properly. Thanks for the support from you guys.

Cardiff City have completed a £2.5m deal for West Brom winger Peter Odemwingie.

Odemwingie was in Cardiff today undergoing a medical and has now put pen to paper on a three-year contract.

Cardiff beat Swansea City and Stoke City to the 32-year-old's signature, with Michael Laudrup instead opting to bring in Alvaro Vazquez on loan from Getafe.

Cardiff's latest signing can play up fron or out wide and boasts a superb record of one goal in every three matches for West Brom.

Odemwingie hit the headlines in January after famously driving to QPR's Loftus Road ground on deadline day to close the deal.

That move fell apart as West Brom refused to accept the bid and Odemwingie was subsequently fined £75,000. He has pretty much been out in the cold at The Hawthorns since then.

The Nigerian becomes Mackay's eighth summer signing following the captures of Gary Medel, Steven Caulker, Andrea Cornelius, John Brayford, Simon Moore, Kevin Theophile-Catherine and Uruguay youngster Maximiliano Amondarain.

Id like to ensure Mr Odemwingie that during his transfer debacle at QPR last season, there was NO piss taking from this messageboard what-so-ever :laughing6:

Good transfer but feel we need another offensive player or MM has to put faith in either Noone or Conway somewhere down the line.

Just had a quick look on rival forums, saying we are mugs for paying up to 4 mil even tho they were coming in their pants when they thought they might be signing him. 4 mil seems a good price to me for a player who will guarantee prem goals and can possibly play as a winger for us.

For £2.5m it's a great signing, his record is 1 in 3 for West Brom.
Not many players could boast that kind of conversion in the Prem.
I'm pleased we've signed him.

30 - Peter Odemwingie is West Bromwich Albion's highest ever scorer in the Premier League; 13 more than any other player. Departing.

For the outlay he's a great signing. He won't have much, if any, sell on value eventually - but we desperately need the experience he has and the qualities he brings. He's a proven premier league striker with a goal ratio of one in three. At 32 he's far from past it.

Put yourself in his shoes too, after all the piss taking since last January - he's got a point to prove. He's going to be well up for it. :ayatollah:

We'v signed enough young talent with great re-sell values, wingie's prem experience cud prove vital with us :ayatollah:

west brom are struggling to score a goal this season and odemwingie would of got them the goal just a shame a mix up with his agent and qpr made odemwindie look like a prat, their loss is our gain :malky:

I'm not convinced, but would love to be proved wrong. I think he comes with loads of baggage and the fiasco last year has given him a massive chip on his shoulder. I think he'll struggle to fit in with the rest of team due to the paranoia surrounding him following his isolation at WBA,

Besides that I think he's a top signing :malky:

I think we should be ok, the new coach prefers players playing in hometown teams plus didn't look like they missed him.
