Baines could have quite easily skipped over that tackle like he did the first on which was outside the box. He played for it and didn't fool the ref.

I said on a previous thread it looked like baines was on his way down before medel slid in, looked for it all day long but most pros do it these days sadly

If anyone goes by if contact is made in the box then penalties would be given in every game.

Doesn't matter if he was looking for it. Medel went in with a reckless tackle, missed the ball and took out the player.

Happened right in front of me. Was relieved when the ref gave a goal kick. He had a good view of it, and made his call. That's football. Have not seen it on TV. The game moved on.

Spot on the ref saw that and that's why he didn't blow. Great ref'ing.

Savage and Owen got that one wrong on motd, and bloody coldly more saying it was a stone cold penalty!

It was a clear penalty. It doesn't matter if Baines was looking for it, Medel slid in, missed the ball and took Baines out. The fact Baines may have been going down slightly before is irrelevant because Medel still clearly took him out.

Marshall would have saved it anyway

If people honestly believe any contact in the box is a penalty then you would see one in every f**king game.

Not enough in it for me. I first thought it was a penalty but looking back on it, he could of easily stayed on his feet.
