Ninian atmosphere rubbish yesterday

Sun Sep 01, 2013 10:11 am

I have previously sat in the canton but yesterday was sat in the ninian stand. I must say that the atmosphere there yesterday was rubbish. I did try and join in the chants with the canton stand but everyone around me did not sing throughout the game and I thought the atmosphere was sterile and not enjoyable at all. There were some pats of the ninian that had pockets of life but too few for my liking. Is it normally like this or was yesterday an off day?

It's like that most weeks to be honest not much going on. I'm in 116 block we got a good
Few singers but apart from that it's not the best atmosphere. It doesn't help when you got
the stewards up and down asking you to sit down all the time. They should swap the Canton
with the family stand then that would be great, but it will never happen because we are now a
well established family club :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Here we go again a City fan downing other City fans. The Ninian is a great place to watch football and the only thing that spoils it is fans who are looking for something to moan about.

No one is downing anyone Tony it an observation based on fact. The fans around me didn't chant or sing but just politely clapped which made the atmosphere sterile. If you bothered to read the rest of my post, I did accept that there were pockets of the ninian that did make noise. Having sat in both stands it was less of an atmosphere in the ninian and I was just enquiring if it is always like that. I appreciate that fans who have paid for their seats have the right to just clap politely and not sing but It's not for me thanks.

I sit with my boy in the FS (always be Grange to me though) and the Ninian looked good. I'm in 123 and love being next to the away - Canton was very loud and when the scousers tried to hijack the 'Greatest Team' chant, they got drowned out. We must keep this up as it really does make the difference. I had a feeling that the PL would make a difference to the atmos and I guess its as now that each game is an event, especially v top 6.

I'm in 117 of the Ninian and the atmosphere has been cracking for the opening 2 games. Great banter with the away fans. It's weird but from where we are we probably only hear anything from the Canton end once or twice a game which is a credit to the fans around us as well as the away fans. :ayatollah:

Listened on the radio over here, sounded quite good and the commentators mentioned the great atmosphere, one of them was Ron Jones mind you

I was at the back of that standing section in the Ninian for the past 3 years and it has been brilliant at times and (rarely) louder than the Canton at times, but I must admit that the majority of the time it was crap, mainly last season and the season before. I blame the stewards telling everyone to sit down every 5 minutes.

I had to move though as my seat was being used for the extended away end, but I'm so glad I moved to the Canton now. I stand at the bottom right behind the goal and you can stand and sing as much as you want without being hassled by stewards. Love it. :ayatollah:

Not far from me then! I've never been told to sit down where I am!

If you don't join in with the rest of the Ninian maybe it wasn't that good for you, I'm in 116 cracking atmosphere. Have a look at your self before you moan

116 was very good yesterday... Not as good as MCFC, but still excellent.

If we were allowed to stand, it would be better again, but when you have been told be some stewards if we don't sit down our card might not work at the next game, it's not worth the hassle

I worry about that a lot mate... But I won't sit down if the people in front of me are standing, it's ridiculous. If they want people to sit, they've got to start at the bottom, otherwise no b*stard can see! :laughing6:

You misunderstand Pontyclun Blue, I did join in the singing everytime it started but I was the only one doing it around me in 113 and I felt rather isolated but I still did it regardless. :ayatollah:

A lot of folk going on about being told by stewards to sit down :sad7: I find this a bit strange as so far this season everyone in our block has stood and not once have I seen a steward ask someone to sit down. I was under the impression that it was the same all over the Ninian but obviously not.

Sorry - I had to miss yesterday's game because of family commitments. It would have been quiet without me there. :ayatollah:

Re: Ninian atmosphere rubbish yesterday

I'm in 112 row S - great atmosphere there, probably helped by the bald tw*t in front of us failing to wave his flag enough in the first half - missed a couple which could have cost us.

Plenty making a noise/joining in with the noise round me, including me. I have NEVER seen a steward telling anyone near me to sit down, though round us we tend to stand when something exciting is happening in the match, rather than as a matter of course. That said in the last few years that has been quite a lot!

Don't doubt you find it as you say, but this is a tired story and done to death.
