" A GOOD DAY OVERALL "

Sat Aug 31, 2013 9:00 pm

A good hard fought well earned point against a very strong established Everton team.

The players worked hard defensively and Caulker and Medel in particular I thought were impressive. Medel's energy was tiring to watch, each time Felliani collected the ball deep the Pitbull was snapping at his ankles. Caulker got better as the minutes ticked away and his composure in the second half makes me believe that he could be the future captain.

Marshall's save in the first half was top drawer and without the benefit of a replay, it seemed to take a deflection off Turner making the save even more impressive.

Campbell worked tirelessly up front with scant reward but was full of running and I can see him hitting double figures over the course of the season.

Bellamy was obviously up for the game and would have rounded off a good performance with a goal had his first touch been better when he went through on Tim Howard.

Another player signing at half time and Odemwingie expected to be announced as a City player makes today overall a very good one.

No players are expected to be sold and the only outgoings will be on loan, the club is going forward.

And we are a tenth of our way to safety.

Four points from the first three games is a good return, especially because of the opposition we have faced.

Agree. Very good performance.

When's Odemwingie going to be confirmed?

Like all transfers until the paperwork is signed then it could still go pear shaped but Odemwingie has agreed personnel terms.

Apparently the jacks, who currently prop up the rest of the table, came in for him but he didn't fancy it. Apparently the fact that they'd hardly won a game since the league cup final contributed to his decision.

And a little fact "that we blew Swansea out of the water" helped a little

It did. Odenwingie was also pleased with our stadium, whch is of course more than one third bigger than the jacks' poor attempt.

The jacks, by the way, who are currently bottom of the league.

Rock bottom!

It did not help them with negotiations.

And talk of another billionaire becoming involved at Cardiff City is not helping them one bit.

He more than likely already is.

Unfortunately for the jacks, who are at the moment in last place, none of these billionaires seem interested in them.

I hope I am proven wrong here but I don't think Odemwingie is value for money, assuming the fee to be at least 2 million, wages fairly high and he is 32 years I believe. And more importantly has not played football since Jan, he will be nowhere near match fit so any impact is unlikely going to be for a fair few games.

If he signs I hope he proves his quality, in Malky we trust! :malky:

A good result for sure, and I'm really pleased with 4 points from 3 games particularly when you consider the quality of the opposition we have faced. We have played with plenty of heart and a well worked shape that has contained 2 quality sides.

I know we scored 3 last week, but my only fear is that we will struggle to score goals as we progress through the season, especially playing the style of football we have to play to contain the opposition. The closest we came to scoring yesterday was from a PW corner which has to be a concern.

When we come up against the likes of Palace and Hull we will obviously adopt a more attacking approach and my concern is do we have enough up front to win these games, which will be games we have to win. If we can sign a quality striker before the window closes then i think we have every chance of finishing 14th/15th. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

For me, having drawn West Ham in the league cup is a blessing in disguise.

This is a cracking fixture to give all the new signings a game against good opposition. Hopefully Cornelius will be able to get a half in this game too bu then.

Odemwingie will do a job for is imo. He's got a lot to prove.
