MARSHALL
Another assured display from the Scottish Stopper. Two World Class saves, one from Jelavic, a point blank one-handed save. Another from the ineffective Fellaini. His distribution was spot on today and, will be pleased with a clean sheet [8]
CONNELLY
Got caught isolated on a couple of occasians allowing Everton wingbacks to exploit the space down the left. Second Half, a big improvement and he complimented the forwards by pushing forward to help in attack. More confident as the game wore on. [7]
CAULKER
Solid, dependable and confident in his positioning. His awareness to combat the threat of the Everton frontmen was what stood him out as the pick of the Defenders. Not much worried the young CB and on his showing is ahead of Jagielka for the World Cup CB place. [9]
TURNER
Coped with the ariel threat of their frontline admirably all afternoon. Had a scare in the first-half when he injured his knee. Came back stronger in the 2nd half and sniffed out the Everton midfield in their counter attacks. [8]
TAYLER
Coped well with Merieles on the wing. On the end of a few heavy challenges. Picked himself up, dusted himself down and cracked on with the task in hand. Nothing got passed him down the right hand side. [8]
MEDEL
Was at the heart of everything City absorbed: broke up attack after attack; confident on the ball; passing sublime; courageous in the tackle; and quick to put City on the front foot. MOM [9]
GUNNARSON
Worked tirelessly in the centre of the field. Coped brilliantly with the runs of Barkley. He was unable to penetrate the first line of the City midfield and, because of this they were unable to get behind our backline. [9]
KIM
Plenty of effort on the ball. So good with the ball at his feet when he decides to run. But often his skill gets the better of him. He needs to remember that when he decides to run that, at the end of one of his dribbles, at the destination he needs the ball as well. Good to see Kim bossing the Opposition off the ball. Few occasions he barged Pienaar and Osman to get ahold of possession. Superb and can only get better. [8]
WHITTINGHAM
Master of the Rolls! His positional awareness and ability to read what is around, marks him out above the rest. Ran in attack and defended when the defence needed extra bodies. First Class! [9]
BELLAMY
Ran, Chased and Hurried. Needs an arm around him to show how much he is valued, and the experience he brings to the team. Sprayed several cross-field passes switching play from side to side in an instant providing the width in attack. One on one with Howard, his touch taking the ball that little bit too far, or he would have been in! Two years ago it would have been a different story. But still cannot underestimated how much his presence influences others around him. [8]
CAMPBELL
Plenty of effort. A willing runner for the cause. Got in a tumble with Fellaini. Will score heaps of Goals at Cardiff City. Enjoying his time at the Club. [8]
Deserved the point and for all the stature that came with this Everton Team, I thought that. defensively, we tore them to pieces. Wasn't impressed with their so-called stars who were ineffective and had nothing up front, namely: Fellaini, Jelavic, Osman and Barkley. Everton will struggle this year, but like us, they will survive because they are a Football side.

Gents, interesting, our defence was immense, our defensive midfield play as well, I realise it will take time and it is a steep learning curve, but we need to create going forward, time will tell

I thought he was great today and by far our best defender, I am not always his biggest fan but don't understand the criticism he's getting today.

Doesn't mean his performance was bad, I thought first one was harsh and second one Baines looked for it, like he looked for the pen. Connolly won 100% of his aerial challenges and had the second most successful dribbles in the team

It doesn't mean he performed poorly, him constantly giving the ball away to me shows he is not a prem full back.
Very good defensively today buy woeful with his passing.

CLUELESS!! How some read a game of football!!
There's more to a game of football than wot u do with the ball at yr feet!
We defended as a unit, a work rate I've never witnessed in a Cardiff side and/or most teams.
Connelly= yes, I don't rate him at right back but, 5, no way
7
Turner= u rated 6, ha!! Wot a rock!!
8
Bellamy, another 6!! Joke!!! He played to a system, 1 which dictated him defensively.
8
Gunarsson, quietly effective. Few heavy touches early on. Apart from that, worked hard and broke up play.
7
Medel. Lucky with the pen, apart from that he was world class at wot
He does. 6!!!!!! f**k me, clueless,
8
Campbell, 6!!!! Made himself available to feet and behind all afternoon!!! Wot is wrong with some people.
8
Reading some people's opinions on games is embarrassing!!
Kim was easily MOM, surprised he was taken off.

Marshall, Taylor, Kim and Medel all deserve at least a 8 rating. Also some of you guys are rating Bellamy a tad bit too high. The man had the chance to score from Kim's pass, but his first touch was atrocious.
Sun Sep 01, 2013 2:58 am
Bellamy was not that good. In fact if it wasn't for his terrible decision to play for a penalty with the heavy touch instead of playing for the actual chance, we Probably would've had the chance of being 1-0 up at that point. Positioning wasn't the best and besides the free kick on target, didn't do much importance. He needs the competition of a new winger, because He's playing with the freedom that he is pretty much a guaranteed starter.
Medel can't be that high, if it wasn't for such a bad referee we would've been 1-0 down because of him. Great performance after that, but everything in total, he could've lost us the game himself.

Performance wise nobody deserved under a 7 yesterday and no one over an 8. It was a fantastic group performance with every player involved sticking to the team ethic.
I really don't understand all the people giving Connolly low scores on yesterdays performance. I agree he's not ideal at right back and was fortunate not to pick up a 2nd yellow yesterday but lets not forget, he had the best attacking left back in the league marauding down his side as well as Piennar and they were kept pretty much in check
Sun Sep 01, 2013 12:37 pm
A bit generous rating for Connolly, I'd give him a 6.
Sun Sep 01, 2013 12:59 pm
Marshall 8 - would have scored higher. World class point blank save, but kicking average at best.
Connelly 6 - not a RB. Easily beaten by winger just like Jarvis. Good going forward.
Caulker 9 - future captain.
Turner 8 - solid. Will Hudson get a chance?
Taylor 8 - not his greatest fan, but rarely beaten and decent going forward.
Medel 7 - can't slide in inside the box. Even though slow motion shows Baines simulated the foul, he did make contact. 99% of refs (especially when we're playing away) would have given that. Gayle and alike would have milked it even more.
Gunnar 8 - did his job and broke up play.
Whitts 7 - more required going forward. Excellent corners.
Bellers 6 - dare I say our weak link? Lost pace and offers little. Water over the ref last week. Deliberate elbow in the face this week. Can see him being used from the bench in near future.
Kim 7 - needs to look up. Great threaded pass to Bellers. No point going past 3 players to give the ball away.
Campbell 7 - a willing runner but no service. Needs someone closer to him.

Depends what game you were watching.
Another person has agreed with mine and are not far different to others so not sure why you have singled out mine
What are your rating then that are hugely different?
