I stand in Canton, and it looked stonewall from there.

Maybe the referee was fearing the crowd's response? Have to think if he'd have given it if it was up the other end, next to their fans?

Definitely looked a clear penalty. What was funnier was Medel apparently having a go at the ref for not booking the player

I thought it was a dive and definite booking. Then I was confused when the yellow card was not shown.

The ref generally wasn't good for us today - could have had a fair few fouls that weren't given and he played advantage a couple of times when clearly we didn't have any... If he didn't give the pen then surely it would be a card for diving? will see on MOTD later again

Well done to the referee for not letting the diving scum win. Yes it looked like a pen but Baines' simulation was almost perfect and he didn't protest because he knew what he'd done.

I hate this business of players jumping out of tackles outside the penalty box but getting the same amount of contact in the box and falling like they've been shot.

Looked like a pen but he should have taken the freekick beforehand.
