Too negative - 0 shots on target again

Sat Aug 31, 2013 2:58 pm

Way too negative, everyone behind the ball with hopeful lumps to Fraser. Medel got lucky Stonewaller too, allowing them too much time in and around our box.

Agreed mate. Need Kim further up and more pressure on the ball higher up the pitch. They're not the paciest.

A point against a decent Everton side. A disciplined and organised performance again. I'll take that. Lets not expect too much too soon!
Great atmosphere again, proud of our fans so far this season! :ayatollah:

Well not entirely accurate. I counted at least three shots on target today.

There were shots on target.

Roathie pretending to be a CCFC fan again. Here we go again. Let the circus begin.

With Jagielka and Distin in defence it was always going to be difficult with Kim and Campbell being our furthest players up the pitch, a complete mismatch physically, these are the type of games where we need a target man like Cornelius. I think Malky was clever today, didn't want to get too carried away and leave us exposed, and just made sure we cancelled out their attacking threat, Barkley was kept really quite, and so were Coleman and Baines too for most of the game. A point at home early on in the season is good, 2/3 more players in, Cornelius back from injury and a few more games to settle down and I think we will start to be a bit more confident and ambitious. Later on in the season this could turn out to be an important point :ayatollah:

Yawn, so obvious.

Notice that fool is only on here when we don't win.

Cue... What are you talking about? Just cos you can't debate me you accuse me of being Roathie.... You'll be accusing me of beng Daya next

All too obvious.

Rather have 0 shots on target than 0 points :ayatollah:

Same as least week, defended well first half, then all out 2nd half towards the canton. Bellamy was really unlucky to score, kim bo was on fire again. We wont play many better teams than everton thats for sure

Whittingham corner was a cross.

4 shots in total, 1 on target.

Because you're a Swansea fan. Rather be a team that has 0 shot on target (although it was 1, yes) in a game and manage to pick up their fourth point than be a team that's had more shots but has 0 points :ayatollah:

Still counts. BBC are notoriously inaccurate.

It doesnt count, clearly.

Re: Too negative - 0 shots on target again

It does count though. Regardless of it being a cross or a shot, It's a shot on target. Had it went in, it would've had to count as a shot on target, so therefore logic should tell you It's a shot on target.

Well then lets claim all backpasses too, if the keeper wasnt there then it would go in.

The fact is, if we have to start claiming direct corners as shots on goal then we are lacking in attacking threat.

4 shots in total at home is a shocking stat whichever way you look at it.

If that is roath, don't bother arguing with it. It has loneliness issues with an obsessive need for attention.

Indeed. Add that to the West Ham game and 2 of our 3 games have been woeful in terms of attacking threat.

Not when you consider the opposition.

Backpasses are from players on the other team.

However, that is a stat that the more accurate providers like opta do keep tally of. They just don't include in the other team's shots on target.

I suspect the jacks would have lost by several goals. They may have had a shot on target. Maybe a pea roller from Britton or something.

Re: Too negative - 0 shots on target again

Whatever DY. if you are happy claiming a corner as a shot then be my guest, the fact is it wasnt a shot that was meant so does not count as the stats show. The fact you are wanting to claim a corner as a shot shows exactly the attacking threat we lack.

Great point, who cares whether it's 2 on target or 3, or whether it's 9 or 10 ?
It's irrelevant, another excellent point & disciplined performance, top effort from the crowd again.
We've got 4 points more already than we're supposed to have :ayatollah:

I thought Everton would have been there for the taking today tbh. Great time to play them with them trying to adapt to Martinez' tactics. I wouldn't be surprised to see them finish outside the top 10 this season.

I agree up to a point, but our aim is 17th so a point against an established prem team with 2 England defenders and a holding midfield player rated at 24 million is ok for me.
