Got rats inbetween ceiling and floor, don't know how they are getting in. Already trapped 3 in garden and now discovered them above the kitchen in the attic. Just put a trap up, (shitting myself when I had to put my head up through the hatch).
Been told not to use poison because they might die under the floorboards, and stink the house out.
Only had this problem since they done work down the river.
If and when I get rid of the problem, will I have to rip up the floorboard to get it all cleaned out ?
Help any one ITK ?

We had this, and I went into the attic, ripped up all the floor boards, and had to check everywhere else.
Under the sink, under draws/cupboards ect ect you get the idea
I only found 1 dead rat, the rest who had eaten the poison had moved on and died elsewhere.
If you report it, the council should come and sort it for you. But they'll only do what you've already done. However the plus side is, you dont have to deal with the little fuckers!

Good idea, I'll give it a try.
All their fans can have at least 1 each.

Mate had this problem a couple of months ago. He phoned the council who sent out pest control. He put a camera down the manhole and found rats were getting into his cavity wall through a crack in a sewer pipe. Sort it out quickly mate cause they breed like f**k.

Is that meant to be a comeback? If so that's very poor.

Make some nitro glycerine and blow the barstewards out!
Or alternatively call the council, they have a number for pest control!

Next door neighbours have lots of pear trees and bird tables. Year or two back, rats were climbing the trees, jumping on the bird table for a scoff and then ran back down the trees. One day I watched on the patio.....I was like the Pied Piper....little feckers everywhere, including a nice ginger one who we nick named Lassie!
They made it up into our attic.
Phoned the council pest control who came around and put poison down. But it was for the rat to take back to the den. Fair do's.... all sorted in a few days.
Funny thing was, the bird from pest control was OK with rats...............but shit scared of spiders!!!
Thinking about it, I do miss Lassie.

I wouldn't bother doing it yourself as they will run rings around you, ring the council ASAP and they will come around straight away. At the moment you have a problem, leave it a week and you will have a epidemic on your hands and then you will have to start ripping up floorboards!

I had a similar problem with a wasps nest in my garden. I simply hung a sign on the house saying 'No Wasps' and I haven't had a problem since.

Just had huw jenkins on the phone, and he said that he spoke to the council and they can't help me at the moment as the likelyhood of the jacks going down is quite high, so there's no need to expand the stadium. So I will have to keep hold of the rats for the time being or contact the homeless department to see if they can help, because they are in need of a treat.
