The Managers

Malky Mackay / Roberto Martinez

Cardiff's manager was rumoured to be one of Everton's targets to replace outgoing manager David Moyes during the summer, however it was former Swansea manager Roberto Martinez who eventually got the job. Like Everton's former manager, Malky is renowned for his smart, professional and organised approach to games. Martinez is know for his more free flowing expansive style of football, that he first brought to England with Cardiff's rivals, Swansea.

Summer Signings

Moore, Brayford, Caulker, Medel, Cornelius

Cardiff have broken their transfer record three times in their Premier League recruitment drive. Caulker and Medel have slotted straight in to the first team, with both impressing so far, especially the latter with his energetic performance against Man City. Cornelius is still waiting for his first Premier League start, and suffered a further set back during midweek, coming off in the first half of the League Cup tie against Accrington Stanley with an ankle injury.

Kone, Alcaraz, Joel Robles

All three of Everton's signings have been taken from Martinez' former club Wigan, although they are all yet to make their league starts for the club. Kone could be in line for his first start against Cardiff, possibly replacing the out of form Nickica Jelavic.

Top Rated Players (WS)

Campbell, Gunarsson, Whittingham
Coleman, Distin, Barkley

Missing Players

Andreas Cornelius \ Antolin Alcaraz, Darron Gibson (unlikely)

Stats (WS)

Average Age: Cardiff = 25.9, Everton = 28.5
Average Height: Cardiff = 181.2, Everton = 181.9
Shots PG: Cardiff = 1.6, Everton = 2.2
Aerial Duel Success: Cardiff = 43%, Everton = 68%
Dribbles PG: Cardiff = 0.9, Everton = 2
Tackles PG: Cardiff = 1.4, Everton = 2

League so far

Cardiff: 0-2 (a) v West Ham, 3-2 (h) v Man City
Everton: 2-2 (a) v Norwich, 0-0 (h) v West Brom

Prediction

1-1

With Everton drawing both their games so far, I wouldn't be surprised to see another draw to make it three out of three for Martinez. Cardiff will be looking to replicate their performance against Man City, although it will be difficult, however they managed to rest more players from their first team squad than their opponents during midweek, with Everton taken to extra time by Stevenage. I wouldn't be surprised if Cardiff nicked a result, but I don't want to estimate Everton, a side still settling down under new management. I think an interesting battle will be Ross Barkley v Gary Medel, with the impressive start Barkley has had he will be in for a tough game at only 18 years old up against one of the most tenacious and hard working midfielders in the league :ayatollah:

I've bet City to win again tomorrow, straight win, if I am honest I expect at least a draw, I don't expect Everton to do that we'll this season.

Everton will be bottom half IMO. Martinez reckons he hasn't got the right type of players to play the way he likes to.

I agree, I don't think they'll be anywhere near where they were last year under Martinez. I was going to put a City win, but I don't want to be too carried away with my predictions, I think this is a great time to face Everton now they have had two draws against lesser teams and we just beat Man City at home :ayatollah:

I'm hoping for a draw. Last week was a massive high & we need to learn that it's not going to be like that every home tie. However, we can still make CCS a fortress.

The officials have been ridiculously biased in our favour so far.

As clear cut penalty as you'll ever see against Medel.

Very lucky so far.

Never a penalty. Before there is even contact Baines' ankles are already in a position whereby you can tell he is going to simulate play.

Should have been a yellow card with Baines. If the simulation comes before the contact then that can't be a penalty. He'll fit wonderfully in at Man Utd the diving scumbag.

The referee has been brilliant today.

He's been brilliant from a Cardiff point of view, I'll give you that! But from a neutral view, he's been shocking. He got a lot of criticism from his role in the Arsenal/Villa match too, and I can see why if he was anything like this.

Hes just been brilliant and hasn't let Everton's scum tactics overrule. They're trying it on their hardest and so far he is rising to the occasion. I hope he refs us every week.

Kim and Connolly were immense, fair play to Connolly he was good last week as well, really improved since the opening day. Happy with the point, a couple more signings and we can hopefully start to finish these games off. Can't believe Fellaini didn't get book, he's a dirty player who loves to elbow and make sly challenges, pushed down Campbell after he fouled him today.
