SOMETHING I NOTICED IN CARDIFF.

I moved away in 2003,We were anything but a Premier league side then.
I missed my Family and friends (obviously) but Skype and all the media outlets have allowed me not to miss to much with their lives.
Attending games home and away with Cardiff City has always been the thing I have missed the most.


When I left I only saw Cardiff shirts on match days.
I could walk though Queen and St Mary's St and hardly see a City shirt on a non match week day.

However Yesterday me,my wife and my daughter were walking around the City centre and the wife kept on asking me the same question "The f**k are you smiling at?"

The answer is Cardiff City Shirts.

Red ones Blue Ones Black and Yellow ones...
Echo,Majestic,Ken Thorne,Malaysia,Sbobet....
Young kids,teenage boys and girls,grown men even brickies and labourers, walking around wearing the strips with pride.


I must've spotted about 300 shirts yesterday...
Now some of you or perhaps all of you may not pick up on this but as a man who knows this city well, but doesn't see it as often as he would like, it was extremely encouraging and heart warming to see.

It never used to be like this....

up in the Rhondda you see a lot of kids wearing Cardiff kits! only started appearing last year, good sign tbh a lot less liverpool and united ones!

Saw one UTD top yesterday...ONE!!!!!

And it wasn't even a replica it was just a red t shirt with a UTD emblem and the words "CHAMPIONS 2013"

What a lovely positive post for a change...Cardiff are progressing and laying down the foundations for the future.

On a non-matchday it's incredible how few you see. Definitely less than the last few years, but yes, far more than 2003 era.

I work at the airport for the past 4 years (although last shift tomorrow) and obviously I see thousands of people come through and so many in football tops, loads of Cardiff tops come through, mostly red replica tops but lots of blue polo tops.

The increase in Swansea tops has been pretty high, hardly any 4 years ago now they are pretty frequent.

World domination has to start somewhere! Think we've just started the journey.......

popped down to Cardiff yday for bit of shopping and seen aload of grown men with replica tops on a few red ones aswell and these guys were atleast in their 40's, and one or two old shirts, up by me in valleys since we been promoted if seens ALOAD of Cardiff tops when I know most are man utd and Liverpool fans but now suddenly support both teams, happened when Swansea was promoted never seen many jacks now theres shit loads of them but funnly enough they support man utd Liverpool etc aswell
