Adar Glas

Wed Aug 28, 2013 12:16 pm

I used to travel on the Adar Glas coaches late 70's early 80's, whatever happened to them, did they become the Rams, no reason I'm just curious many a long hour on one of their buses, overnights to Newcastle/Sunderland, what the hell was I thinking, happy days though (especially Sunderland)

They merged with the CCSC in the 90's

They didn,t become the Rams, but those of us that started the Rams did serve our apprenticeship under the watchful eyes of the legends Mair and Roy Daniels, did give them an aknowledgement in the Rams book ( see Annis for details  )

Had some mad times with them and there should easilly be a book there with all the stories out there.

I,m sure some were there in the Oldham club house when it went mental and Mair was out to kill half of us involved.

The other mad time was after Colchester away around 75or 76, Mair had booked two bus loads of us back in London for a nights bed and breakfeast, told them we were a Welsh choir, mind you, there was a hellmof a song and dance the next morning.

They were all part of the CCsc way before then but split to do their own thing because of a clah of certain prominent members.

Cheers lads, I still can't remember how we came to travel with the Adar Glas instead of CCSC but I think it started because it was easier to get to their office, lazy or what. Fair play, they picked two of us up every other week on Newport Rd outside the Royal café and dropped us off at the infirmary opposite on the way home

The following year at Oldham the coppers came on the bus and told us they had 300 cells ready for us, hammered down with rain that day.

Used to travel with them a lot in the late 70's, used to love Roy's face when he was collecting the black bags, full of flagons, his stern look giving way to a little chuckle...we used to travel with them because they'd pick up from Treorchy,Ystrad, whereas the supporters club was normally from Porth/Ponty, and ccsc were stricter about the 'no booze'...happy, [ fairly ] innocent days...
