Can a senior use a Students season ticket?

Tue Aug 27, 2013 9:34 pm

I want to take my old man to the Everton home game, my son is away, so he can't make the game. They are the same cost I understand, but having read a post about upgrading a kids ticket to an adults ticket last week, confirmation either way would be appreciated. :?:

your old man would need to be a gold member for it to happen.

.
My understanding is you can at a price as long as the new person has a gold membership which is quite contentious whether its right to do that or not . You will be looking at about 50 quid to upgrade if he's to a member .

Was trying to work out the lights on Sunday. I think green is adult, orange is student and orange and green is kids/oaps.

So if this is correct anyone going in on an orange light needs to look between 16-21

Happy to be corrected.

I got an orange so I can confirm that's the 16-21 light.

I was having a look too. Agree with the above. Don't think it's called 'student' though, just 16-21, irrespective.

Why when people think of a student they always describe them as being 16-21? Not all students are in that age bracket. You could be 70 and still be a student - only if you are in full or part time college/university etc, of course. I know of 2 people who are over the age of 55 and they are 'students' as they study full time at Coleg Glan Hafren (Town). They also have NUS student cards and they have both used them for a little discount on their season tickets.

So remember kids, NOT all students are between the ages of 16-21. There are many students who are over the age of 50, who are also classed as students.

I tried to use my bro in laws season ticket a couple of seasons ago which at the time was student season ticket and i got pulled to one side by steward supervisor. He told me that i should of paid for upgrade on ticket. He told me he was putting block on the ticket untill my bro in law contacted ticket office. He rang them but nothing had been done to it. I was clocked on lights on turnstles has i didnt look like a student. i was 33 at time. Now you got be gold member to do it ive also been told that there is a reserve list for returned tickets so he may not get it anyway if he did take gold membership.

Yes and similarly seniors (64+) get an orange and green light same as kids i think so if your dad looks above 64 he can use a kids concession card i believe

Thank you gents, some helpful & amusing responses!

I phoned the club ticket line, the buy back scheme isn't up & running yet, so I can't return them for a Gold member to buy or switch age of user; all very confusing & a waste. Letter of complaint to be ignored will go to the club

I've now given both mine & my son's tickets to a mate to take his kid and taken my advantage of corporate offered through work. Old man :old: will be happy & maybe I'll have found another two souls who will follow the Bluebirds :ayatollah:
