So where were the new seats?

Tue Aug 27, 2013 3:05 pm

I assumed they were filling in 3 of the corners; where I was sitting in the Ninian stand, the 2 corners I could see were still the same.
Plus what were those 2 sections of green seats in the top tier of the Grandstand all about :?:

Green seats are temporary to increase capacity. I imagine they will be blue ones before Everton.

They filled in the corners but not in the way you were thinking. If you were to see a before and after picture it would show.

Danny, they put nearly 500 extra seats in every part of the ground they could manage to them in,if you think they never, why has our capacity increased ? And why not ask Steve Borley himself.

I seen somewhere that the green seats were borrowed from Ireland. They moved the blue seats from up there to the corners where they've put the seats in or something like that.

I don't think getting knock offs from Jimmy Dublin counts as 'borrowing from Ireland'

I sit in row F in the family stand (which was the row directly behind the disabled section)... which I had specifically selected so that my small kids could watch and benefit from an unihibited view...

alas this season they have reduced the area of the disabled section and continued row E in front of me... which has now meant 3 adults are sat directly in front of my kids and everytime something exciting happens up they get..

i dont think my kids saw any of the goals on sat

i'm slightly peeved the club didnt offer me the chance to move my ST seats there!

I don't think he was doubting the extra capacity....just asking where the extra seats were. We were told that some of the corners were being filled in or made smaller but everyone could see that this hadn't happened. I too was wondering where the extra seats were as it certainly wasn't obvious. No big deal....not calling anyone a liar...just wondering. :ayatollah:

Oh. Didn't realise that. Thought you were a bit harsh on him but that explains it. :ayatollah:

There was loads of new seats in the two grandstand corners.

When I was at the Chievo & Bilbao games I also noticed that they'd added one new row all the way round at the back as the seats were a darker color blue to the rest of the stadium.

I'm pretty sure there were additional seats across to where the old TV analysis box was at back of Family Stand?

I was not suggesting there were not any new seats; patently there were given the crowd size. I was just enquiring where they were as the corners had not been filled in (as I had assumed from rumours pre season), and it was not obvious to the naked eye where they were.
Incidentally I do not understand why the club don't fill in 3 of the corners, leaving one for emergencies. The gaps are not attractive, and could assumedly house quite a few more seats.
Just an opinion........... :ayatollah:

You should ask the lads in front if you can swap. I'm sure they won't care about moving back one row, especially if it means your kid can see. I had a lad behind me last season and me and my mate offered to swap places with him and his Dad but they thanked us and said it wasn't a problem. The lad just used to jump on me when we scored!

I did but they have a kid and said they'd found out about the new seats and picked those ones on purpose,
