Cardiff Players - The Stats

Mon Aug 26, 2013 11:27 am

The Headlines:

Turner and Caulker were impressive, 100% ground duels won and 100% headed clearances (only negative was an aerial duel lost by Turner which ended with Negredo's goal in the 92nd minute)

Connolly was okay too, but was surprisingly lacking in the air with only 25% of aerial duels won, surprising for a center back by trade.

Medel and Gunnarsson are heroes. Both had the highest number of touches (46), Medel had 4 interceptions and won possession 6 times while only losing it 7 times. Gunnar won possession a few times less (4) and gave it away a few more times (10) but still did well.

Bellamy and Kimbo had over 90% pass completion and were excellent and also both had an impressive number of possession won - 3 & 4 respectively, nearly as high as the defensive mids.

Kimbo is a star. Contrary to many believing he is lightweight and gives the ball away, he only lost possession 5 times and won it 4 times, plus 2 interceptions. classy.

Whittingham's open play still needs work. Amazing corners however, he lost the ball more times than anyone (13) and had a lower pass accuracy than anyone else too (68%). Obviously still a valuable player, however his stats were not a patch on Kimbo or bellamy's >90% pass accuracy and he gave the ball away more times than both of them combined.

Campbell was amazing. 80% shot accuracy and took 40% of his opportunities. Keep that up and we'll be fine.
