Bid made for Odemwingie

Sat Aug 24, 2013 10:27 pm

Two well known Middlands journalists have said us and Stoke have bid 2m and Swansea have bid 1.8m, but WBA would rather sell to us.

I think he would fit in well.

Agreed. Get him back playing regular football and he'll do well.

Think he would end up being a very decent signing :ayatollah:

I hope that we do get him. He can play up front or more importantly has been converted into a winger now. Still has a lot of pace too. :ayatollah:

Lower wages and yes I would take him. He has a point to prove and seems very dignified in interviews. The media can really portray a player in a bad light if they please. Bad advising from advisors/agents has hampered him.

Bring him in Malky

I would assume he would prefer swansea over us so its will come down to how attractive our offer is in comparison

Don't think he's all that special. Average return rate in a stronger team. Would like to be proved wrong though.

Better than a 1 goal in 3 at wba isn't bad, considering he isn't really a striker of sorts.

Agree with this. He played as a winger or in the number 10 role for WBA in most games that I watched him.

Bring him in.

If that's the case then my bad, he still wasa in a better team and younger though. I thought he was a striker in the mould of Bent that kind of thing (I've had 3 hours sleep in 32 hours so I'm not as reliable as I normally am  )

I still reckon he's got a lot to offer. And in that case go get some rest. ;) :ayatollah:

If his preferred destination is Swansea, I would rather not sign him he seems to have a Bertie big bollox attitude !!!! There's a lot better out there than him that's for sure  :ayatollah: :malky:

One thing is for sure, the transfer window is closing very soon and we are lacking quality in certain positions ( particularly out wide) which would help keep in the Premier League.

If there are players out there that will improve the squad its a no brainer you go to go for them provided its not silly money. Odemwingie will score goals in the Premiership as he has proved in the past and we would strengthen the squad. Yes he is 32 but Premiership survival this season is a must.

Saying that unless we pay him a lot more I can see him go to Swansea.

Telegraph says his preferred club move would be to Swansea - he's already set his stall out and I think we can do better than him anyway

We've already tried to sign players a lot better than him, and we keep getting knocked back. We are Cardiff City, not a top 10 team yet!

Just wondering what wide men you think we could bring in to strenghten the squad before the transfer window closes. Time is running out. We spent so much time chasing Ince and Montero without managing to get them in.

If we do not bring in any width and pace and MM is reluctant to play Noone then it could be a long winter. Nathan Redmond would have been a good signing and even Scott Sinclair on a loan. We need pace and width to get down the sides and provide ammunition for Cornelius. The West Ham game highlighted that without pace and width we may struggle to create chances. Rumours recently of Aaron Leennon but other than that who else can we get in?

Haven't seen us linked but I would love to see us have a go for Victor Moses of Chelsea. They have an abundance of midfield players so could be available perhaps on loan.

Agree, sheer quality. Mc Manaman would be another but he would cost too much.

At 32 he's too old.
Rather MM invested in someone decent or even played Harris.
Yes he's raw, but has genuine pace and trickery which is what we lacked last week.
