We haven't heard much about it recently.
I wonder why

Probably because there have been no matches and the season hasn't started yet?
I've heard quite a bit about the Blues recently and their new artificial pitch.

I'm sure we'll start hearing about it come February, when all the 'fans' come out of the woodwork and start wearing the shirts and filling up the f*cking pubs... Then come March they'll disappear again.
Never had a problem with the game itself, just the people who play and support it. Toffs, who look down on football.
Plus, it's always made me laugh how commentators and pundits joke about players punching and stamping in full view of the cameras, when if a fight breaks out in football it suddenly becomes a national outrage, and the players should be 'role models' or something...

Not till you posted no.Have you ever played the game ? it may be watched and played by toffs in england and scotland but in many parts of the world its a working mans game..........something sadly going away from football.........and its played by real men, not overpaid prima donna's who roll around on the ground if someone farts near them. And if you think the stuff on the TV is rough you should have watched a local derby in wales about 25 years ago........they were X rated.

Matt D, my thoughts exactly. I don't mind watching a bit of rugby with a beer or two on a night in or at skittles. However, it's this elitist attitude of a certain percentage of rugby fans that gets me. They still live in an age where they believe rugby is the top sport in Wales. I grew up being forced to play rugby in high school. We had two terms of rugby, one of football and one of cricket before athletics took over. Nobody wanted to play it bar the odd jock who was good at it. Our PE department was full of ex-rugby players. We all know football is better!

Yes, I played it in school.
It's probably right that it's more a toff's game in England than parts of Wales but I stand by everything I said.
Yes, there are prima donnas in football, and people generally view rugby players as 'real men' for some reason, but I still laugh at it when thumping, stamping and gouging is glossed over by the media etc, and you can do all of that as long as you don't backchat the ref...

Played by real men who punch their opponent behind their back, cheap shot them when they are pinned down and stamp on their opponent when the ref isn't looking? Yeah, real men.

HA HA HA you 2 must have had a real clout off someone when you did play.I love my football and the city and i would have loved to have been talented enough to play football, but we cant have it all. Rugby was an option for many people. yes it was and is a hard sometimes dirty contact sport.yes you were not allowed to back chat the ref.......i wish football would take note.......and i stand by what i said...........there is not much violence in the game today because of tv and long bans. you bite someone in rugby you get a years ban not 10 games.violence was an accepted part of the game years ago....many sides such as pontyridd and pontypool used it to intimidate sides and win games.........like everything else times change, games and people move on, but for the life of me dont judge all people who have been involved with rugby, especially at grass roots level, with those hoards of drunken idiots who attend international matches.

I like Rugby but Rugby fans annoy me because of their holier than thou attitude. "Rugby is the perfect sport, players don't cheat, players don't backchat the ref bla bla bla.........". There are plently examples of bad sportmanship in Rugby but it isn't put in the spotlight because it isn't the most popular sport. A footballer calls someone a tw*t and it's all over the news.

TBF the bites in Rugby down the years that have resulted in lengthy bans are a lot worse than just a little nip on the arm. Usually involves something being bitten off, like a ear lobe.
