A forum for all things Cardiff City

Ince junior was close to making the move to south Wales earlier in the summer after Cardiff had a bid accepted for the England under-21 star. However, the former Liverpool youngster turned down the approach and said at the time he felt staying at the Championship club was the best thing for his future development - for now at least. However, his father's latest comments could be interpreted as a suggestion a future switch to Cardiff could still be on the cards, after the former Manchester United midfielder said that wherever his son goes he must not be left to rot on the bench. "What I wouldn't want Thomas to do is to go to a club and then spend a lot of time on the bench, as that would hamper his development," the Blackpool boss told Sky Sports News. "Whenever he does go, and whatever club he goes to, he needs to be playing football and his development needs to be taken forward. "Look at Scott Sinclair when he left Swansea and went to Manchester City, he hasn't played for two years. That won't happen to Thomas." Ince junior has also been linked with a return to Anfield this summer but the Reds are believed to have baulked at the fee that was being asked for the 21-year-old by the Seasiders amid reports it was as high as £8million.

That bridge is well and truly burnt!

So how do you interpret that he may still come to Cardiff?
Don't think the fans would openly accept him now?

He has always been for sale in this window and in my opinion only turned us down because he believed a "Big" club would come in for him. Despite loads of gossip about Liverpool, Spurs and Newcastle being interested none have bid on him.
If Spurs were really interested they would have used some of the Bale money but they seem to have signed everyone except Ince so I can't see them making a move now. Newcastle might if they can get good money for Cabaye but would he really be played that often there or be a bench warmer.
We were daft enough to offer silly money for him but now the season has started and he has less than 1 year left on his contract we should wait until the last minute, if we are interested, and then offer a couple of million tops. Other than that let's sit back and see what develops, if he is available in January maybe bid £500k for him or better still wait until next summer when he will be available for training compensation money only.

I sought of latched on to the headline "Ince gives Cardiff hope over son deal" it is a bit vague really though isn't it. I would welcome him as he's just the sort of player we need I wouldn't give a monkeys that he's a daddies boy and pissed us about he's a decent winger and thats all that matters. I would welcome him with open arms if it helped us stay up!

No chance get over it, i saw an interview of him on SSN just this afternoon saying he had full respect for Malky and City but with his new family it just isn't the right time. Unless of course a big team in Manchester or London comes in for him.

Never worth 8.5m when you consider what you can get on the continent.
Caulker was never worth 9m either.
English players prices are ridiculous.

yup, england live in their own little self inflated bubble where they think everything is greater than it is. we need to be looking elsewhere, i also saw that we had the largest group of english players in the league!

I think that Ince will move soon but it will not be to City. Newcastle and Spurs are apparently showing interest and it will be no surprise if he decided to go to a 'bigger club'. Cardiff are clearly not big enough for him.

Whilst I admire him for staying with his new young family and staying loyal to Blackpool who gave him his break after Liverpool didn't rate him, he spurned the chance to better prove himself.
Was it a mistake? Only time will tell... Bullet dodged in my opinion.
