While Barnett did well for us he is playing against Doncaster rovers tonight. I think he is a decent defender at championship level. No nonsense and will do a good job for Wigan.. I don't think he is good enough for the prem league though...

Failed to make it in the Premier League at both WBA and Norwich. So why do you think he would have made it with City?
Excellent Championship defender as is Connolly but clearly neither up to Premier League standard.

For the record, I thought Koumas's loan spell for us was fantastic, along with Bellamy's, but the one that really counts, is the one where we finished top of the league and got promoted!

Therefore, "IMO," as Barnett's period coincided with us losing Hudson &Turner and us gaining promotion without them, I'd say that Barnett's loan period was better than the others!

As for derailing threads, well I'm speaking to the master now aren't I?

Barnett's signing alone didn't get us promoted. I also felt that the two I mentioned had more of an impact on the squad OVER A WHOLE SEASON.

Not dismissing it. Knowing that he's only about 16 made me think that he probably won't remember Koumas' importance in his first spell, as it was a long time ago. A perfectly valid point.
