Identity

Seems to be a very popular word at the moment our identity is cardiff city the same as rochdales identity is Rochdale I bet if you asked most people what colour do Rochdale play in at home most wouldn't have a clue

I think its more to do with how the supporters identify themselves. Not everybody else.

We're known as the BLUEbirds though

Why are you bringing it up again? People will believe what they feel is right and EVERY SINGLE FAN has a right to feel how they want and make the stand they want IRRELEVANT of what others are doing. People should just respect each others stance and get on with things and hope for the best because our name will be gone if we are not careful. We all know that the seats will be the next thing and then the name. Tan wouldn't have praised Hull's owner if he wasn't planning it.

The thing that annoys me is the following.

We are cardiff city fc. Our nickname ia the bluebirds.
Manchester United nickname is the red Devils yet everyone knows them as man u or united.

Just like norwich. We know them as norwich nor the canaries.
Bluebirds is just a nickname that people won't use.

WE ARE CARDIFF CITY.

Lets all get behind CARDIFF CITY

Rochdale have changed colours many times.

Couldn't care less what Rochdale have done. We are Cardiff City & the bluebirds. We should be wearing blue. :ayatollah:

Re: Identity

As above,

I don't care about bloody Rochdale. I'd support their fans with their campaigns, but I don't care about them.

I care about Cardiff City.

One man has changed our colours to those of Bristol City, he's relegated the bluebird to a speck on the badge and he's now twice refused to rule out a name change.

Oh, and if a thread on CCMB is to believed he's also sold the shirt sponsorship on the cheap as well.

He's done much right, but the rebrand is very wrong, and far from getting used to it, I become more opposed to it by the week.

It is RIDICULOUS that Cardiff City now play in Liverpool's colours, with some dragon badge and Fire and Passion, which means NOTHING! it's totally ridiculous.

Our identity has been taken. The name hasn't changed, but the identity has been changed, and our tradition ripped up and thrown away.

Wonder if tan was thinking
Fire =of the dragon
Passion = of the bluebird (as he knows how passionate we city fans are for our bluebird)
Dont shoot me down as no one really knows what tan thinks
Its only another possibility
By the way as thoughs that know me I want our blue back as much as anyone and I wont wear anything red

I have always found the "stripped of identity" statement odd. You are correct our name is still the same and our nickname is still the Bluebirds. What has changed is the "traditional" home kit of blue to red.

Now if we heard more about losing our "tradition" then I'm sure BU and all would connect better with the great undecided who currently don't back them.

It is plain stupid to claim we have lost our identity and history when both are clearly still in place. However, our most important "tradition" has been lost.

Simple really.

Nobody is claiming you are not a devoted fan Annis nor the other 99 on the Rochdale train (if they are still alive). But as the club has grown so as its fan base. CCFC is not an exclusive club and back then people would often say "if only someone invested in Cardiff they could be massive"

Now someone has and we are massive (well compared to Swansea we are ;) )

This would work both ways though. Out of the 10,000 signatures from BU members, how many of those would still be following us if we plummeted down to league two wearing blue?

A small percentage. It's hypocrisy of the highest order
