We don't sing anymore!

Tue Aug 20, 2013 9:59 am

Not sure if any of your agree but IMO we don’t sing anymore when we are losing, I've noticed this so many time since the arrival of new stadium came into play and the old lady got demolished!

Now I don’t know if it’s the lack of standing/cheering or the whole blue/red saga but it’s like a morgue at times, the old Cardiff used to sing throughout the 90mins win lose or draw, we seemed to have lost the atmosphere somewhat and Intensity factor where so many away teams dreaded, even when going a goal down e.g. (Leeds FA cup)

On Sunday we need to Unite and be that 12th man and support the boys in the ground big time, they’ve got one hell of a challenge on their hands esp after watching the Geordie game last night. BUT we are the mighty BlueBirds so why fear anyone coming to Cardiff. That was our old moto and despite the changes it should still stand.

Sick of people looking to blame Players, Directors or one another, we are premier now, let’s show them what we are all about fellas. :ayatollah:

It doesn't help when we've got morons like one stood near to me on Saturday calling our players C***s, when they lost possession etc!

I know exactly what it is, i was worrying about it since we changed stadiums because everyone has split up for one, the standing is a problem if everyone is standing the atmosphere is awesome like Charlton, jack game when we beat them 2-1 was the best, it doesn't help when we're trying to get other people standing the stewards come over and try and chuck us out of our own stadium that we paid for our season tickets these are main problems.

I think a lot of it is not standing/sat by like minded people. I mean if someone wants to sing like f**k but is next to someone who doesn't they may feel awkward going mental. It can be good as we have seen a few times I hope its better this year they are going to need us :ayatollah:

It doesn't help that many of the most natural songs 'Blue Army' / 'The Blues are Staying Up' Malky Mackays Blue and White Army' / Who are we? Blue Army! / Cardiff City, we'll always be blue etc etc etc seems to be considered taboo by some fans.

No one is going to sing red songs, so we are left with 'Come on Cardiff', songs about picks and shovels and telling Keving McNaughton that we like his grey hair and that we'd let him procreate with our birds.

There are other atmosphere issues, but the above situation hardly helps. I think anything that gets the nans going (certainly including pro blue songs, and (if anyone were inclined) pro red songs need to be tolerated and encouraged. I was really quite disapointed with what a certain fan said yesterday expressing an almost sense of pride that 'We'll always be blue' was barely sung.

Football passion needs to be allowed to develop organically, we can't have people telling others what they can and can't sing..inside of the law of course.

I personally think the ground will be rocking this season, especially when the games are tight and we are trying to grind out a win etc.

PS, I meant 'get the fans going' not 'get the nans going'..

That is something alltogether different...!
