Free Role For Bellers?

Tue Aug 20, 2013 7:33 am

I've often thought Bellers plays best when roaming the pitch, tracking back in defence or finding holes in attack. With that in mind I'd seriously consider giving him a completely free role with the line up looking like this. Also with our complete lack of quality out and out wide men I'd consider playing with no real wingers.

...................Marshall
Brayford.....Caulker....Hudson...Taylor/John
.......................Gary
.....<-- Kimbo-->..Gunnars....<--Whitts-->
......................Bellers
.....................Cornelius

The idea being to pack the midfield when defending. and Having a good target man to hold the ball up when attacking with Bellers acting as the link up man. Also as far as defence goes; Hudson has to play for experience and leadership alone. Additionally if Malky is keen on playing John then Husdon I feel would need to play along side him. Let's also not forget that Caulker is still a young man and would also benfeit from Hudson's on pitch guidance.

I would give Kim or Whitts a free role before Bellamy. Bellamy needs to stay wide left to give us width and pace. 4-2-3-1 with Medel and Gunnarson protecting the back 4. Bellamy left, Noone (new signing) right and Kim central just behind the striker

not at the moment personally I don't think he's anywhere near fit and I would drop him for now

I think Bellers needs a break

not hungry for me - guaranteed a sport and not making runs from whitts or medel passes.
