Given Too Much Respect!

Mon Aug 19, 2013 10:28 pm

Fair play man city looked a class act tonight but I think Newcastle gave them too much respect. One thing Newcastle didn't seem to do imo is close them down get in their faces press them and make life difficult for them.
If we stand any chance of getting anything from the game Sunday we have to make it like a cup final, hunt every ball down work our socks off get stuck into man city's stars giving them no time on the ball and don't give them any respect! Also our crowd can play a big part.

So what players do you think would be up for the challenge?
I would drop whittingham cos he's always too slow and sluggish closing down for me and just stands off the opposition. I'd bring in Jordan mutch think this game would suit him playing alongside Gary medel in a defensive midfielder role. Then if we can close down and win the ball back off man city hopefully we can break quickly on the counter attack with Kimbo, Craig noone and bellamys pace on the wings, or even Campbell or Maynard out wide with cornelius up top making himself a nuisance for man city's defenders. Campbell is a no up front for me because he would just get isolated again like Saturday I feel.

Thinking along the same lines.
