They look decent to me, especially going forward. Got some good players in Midfield, plus Holloway's got them playing without fear by the looks of things.
Still going down though

Better than us but a fitter team as well and Holloway has stuck with what he knows.
I think Malky played Turner and Connolly yesterday knowing there was a good chance we'd lose on the opening day of the season away in a tough fixture and now he has an excuse to drop them after a decent preseason.
Would not be surprised if Hudson and Brayford come in for the next game.

He's done the same as what he did with Blackpool. Riles his players up plus their at home and they will just attack teams, still think they will get relegated

we've actually signed the least players and spent the most.
It could be catastrophic but hopefully im wrong, you cant rely on 4 players to improve your squad in the premier league.
people get tired and injured

Palace will be a hard place for any1 to go they had a terrific home record last season. They look abit short ip front may struggle for goals like us

Hudson and Brayford are way above them in my view anyway. Personally thought Connolly was shocking yesterday.
Home form is crucial and I think it'll be the deciding factor in who stays up. So them losing is a decent plus

Still think they'll get relegated, but they look alright. Plus Holloway likes to make triple subs, that'll backfire at some point

Our fans need to take a leaf out of palace's book?
They cheered there team on right through to the end.
Our fans are moaning after one game. Wouldn't be surprisd to see all the glory supporters disappear soon enough

Agreed mate but after preseason could he really just drop them and say 'you're not good enough' ? He would have had to pick on form from preseason fairly or it would have created a bad feeling in the camp. Imagine being Turner and performing better than Hudson in preseason and then he and a new signing come in and get the nod before you. You'd be annoyed.
I reckon we'll see a few changes for the Everton team as Malky now has the excuse he needs to change it up after that lacklustre display. Not saying he did it on purpose and threw the game for an excuse but he just knew there was a good chance of losing as Upton Park is a tough place to go.
If we'd won then they continue to play and have earned their spot and 3 points on the table. If we lose then he can drop them for next game. Its a win-win in his book from a selection point of view.

They'll do well for the first 10 games. Then they'll go down hill.

Think 8 of their team played in their last champ game! So can't say for certain the best policy regarding signings
But yes will be relegated!

They played better today than we did yesterday but they are not better than us.

Head and shoulders better than us at the moment

they had a decent afternoon (but still lost and should have been 2-0 at the death), we had a shit one. they played at home, we played away. swings and roundabouts itll all come about at some point.
Sun Aug 18, 2013 2:53 pm
Our team is fitter than there's, our team is better than theirs. I'd have taken Williams and Chamakh from them, that's all. Chamakh on small wages would have been a good striker to rely on for goals. We played crap yesterday and Palace gave a good account of themselves but we played poorly due to the wrong team selection and being the away team. The CCS was a fortress last season and will be this season. IMWT

They did better than what I thought and if they play like that all season at home they will pick up decent points. Its a case whether they can maintain that performance.
In fairness to Ian Holloway all of his teams never sit back. They always give it a go.
