Just one game in so just relax and Malky will sort it out

The closer it got to kick off the less confident I got. No team outside the top 7 last season won at Upton Park. Very very tough place to go. Arguably one of the hardest games we could've asked for.

I didn't expect a win, but was confident we could sneak a point! Very difficult place to visit!

Wasn't really expecting us to get anything in all honesty, a point at most. I did think we would have shown more of a battling performance in our first game though.. Got in their faces a bit more. Seemed like our players were a bit overawed by the occasion, and gave west ham to much respect, stood off them to much. our players need to start believing in themselves a bit more, they've earned the right to play in this league, so I'm hoping they go at it a bit more against man city, play with a bit more freedom and give it a real good go. A battling performance at home against a top team like man city will give us bags of confidence

I said on a previous thread we'd lose 2-0 but got criticized for being 'negative'. Its not being negative its just some of us need to get our heads out of our arses and realise 4/5 teams aside, we will have to play at 100% just to consolidate a draw. That being said it isnt all doom an gloom, there was SOME good potential yesterday, and I have every faith in hornycorny bagging some goals when fit

I honestly believed we would get a point from the game, I thought Malky's hard working and press the opposition would have given us something over West Ham, I expected more of a fight from us but felt we showed West Ham far too much respect in the first 20 mins of the game.

West ham are a more experienced, stronger version of us. Plus they beat us 7-0 across the last three games.
A kid at LB with 5 debuts. And it's not like they destroyed us.
With Cornellius up top a new winger and campbell on the wings we'd be in better stead.
Medel got to settle in and Gunnar isn't fit.

Yeah couldn't have put it better. We let them come on to us and when you do that in the Pren you're always in trouble. A learning curve.

We didn't battle hard enough and because of the changes and new signings we were uncoordinated and it showed as twice players went missing and space was exploited and they basically walked/passed it in without any real purpose of trying to unlock us. It was very easy for them and they took advantage of our lack of understanding. I couldn't believe how simple it was twice for them to just play it around us. Far too much respect given and Medel looked a bit tame compared to what we usually see (La Liga games) and I'd rather him go into brutal mode and be the player he is and risk a red to be honest.

That's exactly it, if we pressed them up the field we probably would have got a draw but instead we let them play out of the back at will.
Look how many times Collins waltzed out of the back to bomb balls into our box.
