THE BLUEBIRDS MOVEMENT

Sat Aug 17, 2013 11:06 pm

Hello, I'm a member of a group of Cardiff fans trying to improve the match day atmosphere at the Cardiff City Stadium. We have renamed ourselves 'The Bluebirds Movement' but are open to all names and suggestions from fellow fans. We are not an ultra group and we do not condone hooliganism in football. We are aware that there are some restrictions that we have to follow such as flags not being able to be hung due to the advertisements the club provide.

Myself being a Canton Stander feel the Canton Stand is 'the atmosphere stand' due to the freedom on standing but it could easily pass onto the Ninian Stand. Nothing is in place yet and it will be extremely hard to work together due to the stadium being sold out often thus making it hard for all members/people interested in taking part in TBM but this can work with co-operation from the club and fans interested. The atmosphere can be electric at times but we're here to make it electric most of the time, the lads need our support in what will be a long season ahead.

We are open to all ideas and would love it if you could back us in attempting to make the match day experience more exciting for fans who just want to support their team. We aren't going to be the next 'Blue Army' etc from last summer who gave silly excuses. Together, we can make a real atmosphere.

If you'd like to suggest some ideas on what you'd like to see such as, confetti displays, card displays, new chants etc. We are open to it, so leave them below :ayatollah:

More people standing and singing. That's what we need, since we can't have the Canton and Grange swapped

We are not an ultra group

Why not?

'Ultras are a type of sports fans renowned for their fanatical support and elaborate displays.'

The hooliganism part of it is just what some groups choose to do.

Cardiff City Ultras sounds amazing. 8-) :ayatollah:

I can tell you without doubt that this will happen, families are aware that this stand is the freedom stand hence why they chose to sit in the Grange, Grandstand and parts of the Ninian. All of us will want to play a part in such an important season to this club. We want to be the 12th Man, that's what we aim to do :ayatollah:

Because Ultra groups are given the wrong perception in the United Kingdom, it's impossible to even consider it due to the safety laws and regulations. Items such as smoke bombs and flares can land a fan in major trouble with the police.

Not all ultras use flares and smoke bombs. Look at the above definition. :?

I accept that but we are looking for a more original game. Something that borders ultras but remains friendly for all. As said above, we are open to suggestions. What would you class as elaborate displays that we haven't highlighted such as card/confetti displays?
