Today's bubble

Sat Aug 17, 2013 9:47 pm

Crafty met police getting us to the ground at 1450 and there was no beer served half time, 5 hour drinking gap.

I know boozing is not the be all and end all, but I won't be rushing on a semi bubble trip again.

Unreal amount of police at and around the ground too

Today was a nightmare! Missed the first 5-10 mins because of the escort, there was all that nonsense with the police at halftime and the forum bus broke down on the way home! Oh, and the football was shite and all!

treated like animals really! arrive 10 mins before kick off, get off the bus you're are immediately in the ground, nowhere to move, straight to your seats! prices are so high for tickets you at least expect a good day out, disappointed tbh!

they were just way over the top and ruin peoples day! cardiff were well behaved anyway, days of hooligans are over (apart from a few arseholes), most just want a nice day out with their mates! but no over the top policing just sours a memorable day for us

Drove to South Mimms, picked up tickets at 12, drove the 30 mins to Upminster, pub right next to the Tube station full of friendly Hammers where we managed to neck 6 pints, 25 mins on the Tube, 5 minute walk and at the ground by 2.50 - no hassle at all.

Similar story as above for us. Though tickets were available at about 11.30 when we arrived at South Mimms. We were in a pub next to Snaresbrook station by noon. Left there about 2.00 and were in the ground about half past.

Seems like the coaches got the shite end of the deal.

Friend drove to ground, cans in car all the way up. Picked tickets up at 1130, drove to Hornchurch, tube into weat ham. Beer open in ground at 1pm. Bumped into Nips and Baked outside the ground who was waiting for their tickets. I think our fans being roudy and banging on the metal shutter was reason they didnt open bar at half time. Train back to Hornchurch and more beers on drive home after picking more up in services. All in all a great day barring the result and performance.
Also good to see Cornelius in with the away fans yesterday down towards the front

Rubbish, they was hitting the shutters as they was coming up, hence them putting them straight back down again. I was in the front of the que

I went with the tit, we were 1 of the first buses into s mimms and one of the first out. Got to the ground about 2.15, but even then the q at the bar was about 6 deep, 4.20 for a plastic bottle of carlsberg. 4 bar staff trying to serve 3000 city fans, made it the worst away facilities i've seen since peterborough.

And how that area can get past h&s and fire safety certs is bloody incredible.

And our bus didnt break down but ive had dodgy guts all day today thanks to a stop on the way back in a polish mini market. I reckon the sandwich and lagers i had were about 3 months out of date
