My view on the players today..

david marshall- couldn't really do much about the goals.. kicking need to be a bit more accurate, nice to see he played it short a lot.

Connolly- bit unfair to judge him at right back but for me he is not good enough to start a premiership game ok for back up as a sub.

turner- also think he's not good enough to start every time he seems to get the ball he launches it upfront, west ham were a lot bigger than us so they were just winning the ball back at running straight at us.

caulker- played well.. to me it looked like a lot of the defence were sort of relying on him as he seemed to be covering other defensive positions at one point running to try and win every header.

john- for a 18 year old making his debut in the premiership thought he done very well and will only improve think we got a gem here.

bellamy- it sad to say bellamys not the player he was 2 years ago when he came here, he just doesn't seem to contribute much anymore hopefully over the next few games he finds the spark again but i seriously can't remember the last time apart from blackburn away last year i said "shit bellamy played class today"

medal- thought he was our motm he wanted the ball every single time calling for it, a lot of the play went through him and i think if we stay up he will be a massive influence on it was happy with his performance.

gunnarson- tried his hardest but i think west ham midfield just bullied us today and were a lot bigger and stronger, won a couple of tussles in the middle mind.

kim- a few good touches and passes and i still think he will have a good season, a little light weight mind falls over very easily.

whittingham- think he was one of our better players today, i don't know why bellamy takes a lot of the set pieces i think whittingham has a better delivery and should be taking them.

campbell- played the lone role good was always going to be hard for him as he didn't get much service at all but went for every header and ran a lot which is good to see.

I think we need a new centre back to partner caulker because to be honest turner and hudson aren't good enough to play week in week out in the premiership we also need a right back if malky isn't going to with brayford all the time.

i also think we need 2 midfielders 1 being a winger and 1 being someone just behind the strikers swell to try and get it flowing in the middle.

also think we need 1 more striker someone who is proven in the league like e.g. defoe, bent that type of player and i think we will be okay.

the motm for me was diame he ran the show today big, strong bossed people off the ball and also had a few good efforts on goal.

I don't think no one needs to panic as i think west ham will have a good season and they are very good at home and not many people will go there and win so with a few more weeks left of the transfer window hopefully at least 3 more players in and i think well be okay. :ayatollah: :malky:

Agree for the most part. Although I think Turner will be good enough alongside Caulker. Maybe of we'd had Brayford playing it would have had an effect on the defence, Connolly just isn't good enough.

Thought Whitts had a good game. don't think we needed Gunnar though with Medel. That made us sit back too much IMO, we were crying out for Nooney at times though

Judging what I saw Medel stood out.

Bellamy needs to f**k off on set pieces.. Whittingham is a different level to him.

Missed Hudsons leadership in the back 4 I think.

Was'nt at the game today , watched it down in Canton. But I felt a few players let themselves down, namely, Gunnerson, Bellamy and Connolly. Also I felt Malky had'nt learnt much considering the hammering they gave us in the play offs.

Being honest I don't like Bellamy on either right or left wing, does what he does best when up top, caulker was a rock today, still think n Turner is not our answer at the back, touch like elephant n a turn like a rhino, medel impressed, ran after everything n wanted the ball everything, whitts could Of put his foot through the ball few times .he look to slip in Bellamy n Maynard instead , Kim will get better, some lovely touches at time, long old season, roll on next week

Sounds like Bellamy's football career is being numbered :(

Cant remember the last time we have seen Bellers explosive pace there seems to be nothing at the mo. Is he injured or is time calling on his tendons ?
Turner I was not impressed TBH I think Hudson would be a better choice. And Noone instead of Bellers. But its only one game leyts judge after 5 or 6.
Good support today :ayatollah:

Maybe at his age, this point in season, 2 games in a week too much for craig?

I am sorry but IMO Whitts was poor today. Declan John did well with no support at all in defence from Whitts. Joe Cole was cutting in field from the right when the ball was on the left (look at his goal) and being replaced by one of their centre midfield players, so Declan John had to stay. If Whitts had helped and tracked back he could follow Cole.

As we all know, we need width in the team, but where is it coming from. Noone should stay on the left IMO as when he is right the movement is slowed down as you know he will stop to cut back to use the left foot.

My team would be:-

Marshall
Brayford
Caulker
Turner / Hudson (not sure what to do here. Hudson is better in my opinion but can he and Caulker only play on the right side of CD?)
Taylor (although John did very well and will be pushing when he has more games under his belt)
RM (need someone here badly but I would give Conway a crack at home)
Medel (future City skipper. Only been involved a few days and directed everything as best he could yesterday and wanted the ball constantly. Not sure if he speaks English mind, so this may hamper my last quote)
Mutch (fully fit and driving forward will complement Medel's holding role)
Noone (in his natural left position, getting passed players and crossing early to allow the CF to attack the ball)
Campbell (looking very sharp and worked his arse off yesterday)
Cornelius (not seen a lot of him, but comes with a good rep and will be a good target to allow Campbell to run off him)

But then again, i could be way off the mark.

On a side note.
"He's here, He's there, he's every f*cking where Mr Moon, Mr Moon  "

That was great yesterday
