The press documented that we had a 3m bid turned down and City have gone back with a further bid of 4.5 - 4.7 m depending what press you believe. :ayatollah:

Cardiff City are ready to sign Ecuador international winger Jefferson Montero - after tabling a £4.7 million offer to outbid West Bromwich Albion.

Boss Malky Mackay has put in an improved offer to Mexican side Morelias for the wide man and expects to clinch a deal this weekend.

Mackay has been on Montero's trail for weeks but the opening offers were turned down. Now the Welsh club have upped their bid after Albion made contact.

Baggies boss Steve Clarke wants Montero after failing to land Scott Sinclair from Manchester City on loan - and he is pushing his money men to spend.

However Cardiff have already flexed their financial muscle this summer and the latest bid seems too good for Morelias to refuse - with the winger also keen to move.
