You'll struggle watching it in the viv...it burned down a few years and is now a block of flats and a corner shop

Pt has always been blue. My grandad (RIP) was one of the originals in the 1920s.

Who is johnny skids ?

Re: Port Talbot Pubs ?

Thu Jul 03, 2014 6:21 pm

I think he was ripping the piss with the mount and viv. :D Johnny skids was graffiti somewhere, maybe on the mountview?

And of course PT isn't blue.10 years ago and you might have had a point. It's predominately white now with a sprinkling of blue.

I'm port talbot and blue but sadly port talbot is jack area now, working in a school I can confirm there is about.95% are Swansea fans, 3% couldn't give a sh't one percent is cardiff, and the last one percent wear cardiff but admitted they don't like them, and only wear it because it's been given to. Them.

Only changed in 2011. When they were in the Championship they were nothing there and in Neath. When they drop out of the Prem you'll only need to give it a few years and the majority of the area will go back to supporting neither, just like it was before.

When I was younger all the fighters were Cardiff but even their offsprings are Jacks now. :D

Re: Port Talbot Pubs ?

Thu Jul 03, 2014 6:48 pm

Firstly the Viv might now be a block of flats & a dodgy order shop but fact is you can still ply your illegal bootlegging & call into various flats for midisinal purposes.secondly port Talbot is not blue nor is it white,it's actually black as tata steel today unloaded it's new clean 100% healthy dust cloud for the locals to sample & the smackheads from the surrounding areas flocked in anticipation of their next fix.

Agree with that

Re: Port Talbot Pubs ?

Sadly have to agree again with the Swansea lad Above 'can't type your name because predict a text won't let me ha' .... But back in 2002 - 2007 when I was in comp it was all Swansea. And at this point we where number 1 club in wales by a long shot, most of. The Swansea fans there came. From cardiff fan parents. Sandfields is a white zone, I can hand on heart say if I went out for a walk I would see 10-1 more Swansea shirts than cardiff shirts in kids.... One thing I. Have found aswell a. Lot of kids say. They don't. Wear cardiff's red shirt because it looks like a cheap Manu shirt. As much as I wish this wasn't the case sadly it is. That said there's a few older guys wearing blue

When hooliganism was rife in the 80's and 90's most followed Cardiff for a good old scrap in their C17's and Marc O'Polo's.As soon as that died off and nobody cared about scrapping, the football resurfaced and being the dominant force most chose Swansea. If fighting ever came back and the Swans went into freefall on the pitch then I'm pretty sure it would even itself out again. Not much chance of that happening though eh :D

Re: Port Talbot Pubs ?

Don't come from port talbot but work in the place that send up the black smoke regularly. What I've noticed in the time I've worked there is a definite shift in swanseas favour in the amount of fans supporting the teams. I would say it was 50/50 ten years ago . Now definitely more jacks with the extra fans they've gained understandably since their premiership years but a lot of these were supporters of other clubs and even ospreys fans and the most annoying group. Not saying that as a bitter jibe as many there are die hard life long jacks who I have a lot of time for. What I would say is the cardiff fans are 100% loyal and cardiff mad

SANDFIELDS BLUE wrote:Port talbot will always b blue why don't the jacks f**k off back over the ferry bridge

Suggests PortToilet isn't as blue as you think with all those Jacks there . From the Neath area originally ..... A few slap heads in the Cearworm drinking in the old Highlander and there was one in school with me . Neath is white and always will be

Wot a load of Tosh . Probably get 1/2 dozen in the Grand on match days when you was in Premier but in my days Sandfields was always Man Ure . Pool . Chelsea or Spurs
But everyone's first team was Swansea fact !!

it doesnt matter if pt is blue red white or yellow ccfc will always have more support than the gyro gypos even in the lower div like 2yrs ago we will always be blue and proud and we only got 8 fingers total but stop pinching our pegs wer running short go back to the ferry camp and get ur own pegs off ur boyfriends I mean dads mums I mean sisters ooh its all confusing with that white happy family bloooooobirds

Re: Port Talbot Pubs ?

The only time there may have been half a dozen or so in the Grand would have been when we were playing at home and most would have been at the game.
When we were away there would be anything up to a 100 Bluebirds in there.
Even the Jacks admitted that we had taken their pub..........in a friendly way of course!
As ive said in other threads regarding this subject, yes there are more Jacks in PT now, but the vast majority are kids and the "ive been supporting the Swans for years, but I havent been able to go because I was working* type lol.
You know the ones I mean, they used to say *the Swans are doing ok arent they*
Now its *we are doing ok arent we*.
Plastic till you die!!

:o 100 Bluebirds in the Grand lmfao
I'll be the first to admit our success over the last few years has brought the Plastics out but you'd agree with me that the same can be said for Cardiff when they briefly returned to the Premier ?
How many will be at the Grand for this season  Not many my guess as there wont be any Championship games being shown :!: :!:

Exactly, we both have these types of fans all over but in mixed areas maybe you notice it more. I always remember there was as good hardcore in pt of bluebirds who ran the show so to speak. I'm sure the young ones now follow the jacks as they have done well and parents don't tend to let their kids travel to the big bad capital do they? The little town over the bridge though, that's ok. So they end up being jacks, bless em....

yes you will always see people in swansea shirts around here but it doesnt always mean that they do follow swansea .to be fair to my fellow port talbot bluebirds we never ever really where our colours we never have in the the seventies to the present its something we have never done :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

In what part of the 00s (after the 80s & 90s scrapping) were Swansea the dominant force in football?!  you were nearly relegated out of the league in 03 FFS. :laughing6:
