Problem with red seats is...

Thu Aug 15, 2013 10:15 am

It will lessen the chance of any new owner changing us back to blue in the future. A lot of people are happy to go along with this rebrand & assume a new owner will change us back (God knows why, mind).

SHOULD the seats in the stadium turn red (although it is just a rumour at this time), the likelihood of this happening drops severely in my eyes.

Should the stadium seats all turn red, I fear Cardiff City will not wear blue at home again.

If at some point in the future we do have new owners, I can't see them changing us back to Blue unless they happen to be a very rich Cardiff fan, there will of been to much water gone under the bridge by then. Hope i'm wrong

Exactly, hence why I loathe the rebrand. The fans who think it will be changed back after they've accepted it with open arms and smiles on their faces are deluded and naive.

Nobody is assuming a new owner will change us back, but I (& others) have an honest opinion that we will revert back to blue one day.

My acceptance of the rebrand reluctantly has nothing to do with any possible return to blue in the future, it is to do with the need to ensure there is a Cardiff City TODAY so that CCFC has a future where it may return to blue.

To say that the installation of 5000 (and probably up to 40000) red seats makes a return to blue severely unlikely is an opinion but not a convincing one in my eyes.

You've assumed it many times.

 of course it makes it more unlikely!

I have a dream of returning to blue but accept that nothing is guaranteed. Deluded are those who believe we could have stayed blue and survived another High Court winding up order without VT's investment in exchange for rebranding.

Now that really is naïve.

I have said several times that I believe one day we will return to blue. It is my belief but I have never said it will happen and it has no bearing on my acceptance of the rebrand

You are back to your old ways, making it up as you go along. :sleepy2:

I don't think many have accepted it with open arms to be honest, most just wanted the club to survive and Tan has done that for us

Exactly. Threads like this are pointless as there has never been a promise that we would revert back to blue, but that doesn't stop fans dreaming of it and it still remains a possibility even if red seats are installed.

I'd like to think you were right, but there's plenty of posters on here falling over themselves to justify the rebrand.

It won't be a possibility as so many fans were gutless when it came to apposing the rebrand.
Any new owner will get the impression that the red was accepted and will therefore not spend money changing us back.
Nice dream though, I share it

if tan can change replace the seats with red then a new owner in the future could replace them with blue seats and then change the home kit back to blue, granted unlikely but still a possibility

But of course you leave out the IMO which for your assistance means IN MY OPINION. That doesn't mean that it will happen it just confirms my belief that it will IN MY OPINION.

That is the problem with you Chuckles you can't separate FACT from OPINION.

Correct me if I am wrong? But unless something actually happens isn't it just an assumption or speculation that it will happen? No matter how high the probability of it happening? its actually got to happen to be fact!

I haven't said we will return to blue because there is no agreement that we will. What I have said is I have a strong opinion that we will return to blue one day and I'm entitled to that opinion.

Also we are going off on a tangent here with regard to your OP. Whether we return to blue has no bearing on my acceptance of the rebrand and the installation of 5000 red seats whilst painful it makes no difference as I understand there is no guarantee.

Of course I could be proved right at a future date but we won't know until then so you enjoy your juvenile gloating.
