" Joe Ralls goes out on loan "

Wed Aug 14, 2013 1:57 pm

Good experience for the kid, hopefully he'll hold down a regular starting spot.

Today Cardiff City loaned out Joe Ralls till January 2014 to Championship team Yeovil Town.

Hope he don't get contaminated by Tate.

Excellent news :ayatollah:

He is one of the best youngsters we have here and Yeovil are probably one of the better teams he could have joined in that league in terms of they are just as ambitious as we are.

I think if they loaned Kadeem Harris too then that would take them to the play-offs atleast... my opinion

Lucky to get a chance in the Premier League.

But sadly an early sign he could be leaving soon next season.

Say what you want but going out on loan as a youngster will most likely be a sign he will leave.

Not all players will break in, you can't just expect them to break through and cement a place at such a young age, if we didn't have the money then yes you'd keep them here but we do, you won't see players from the academy playing properly in our team for another few years because of the new facilities we're building and the fact Malky has only been here since 11/12, so his academy regime is only just starting

Your logic behind this is???

Plenty of players get loaned out before breaking into the first team...

Here's a few to name
Welback
Lukaku
DeBruyne
Sturridge - I know he's sold now but he had a season before being sold
Beckham was loaned out to Preston.

The list goes on - I don't understand your logic behind your post at all.....

Agreed. Add Frank Lampard to the never ending list too.

Ralls will most likely move on permanently. With the calibre of signing we are making I cant see him making the grade. Wish the lad best of luck though.

More than likely, only some make it back without being sold.

Didn't he just sign a new contract?

But your post has no substance to it? players get sold that's what happens. You say only some back it back yet some do make it so why do you see Ralls in the category of players that don't make it?
If we wanted to sell him why offer him a new contract, We need to develop youngsters and sending them out on loan is a very good way to do this. Just because he is on loan doesn't mean we are going to sell him as I said loads of players go out on loan for experience

Means nothing. He comes back next summer and we will strengthen again and he will be frozen out of the squad. Tan isn't going to sit back next summer, he's going to want to take the fact we have established ourselves in the Premier League and sign new players of higher standards.

The only way I can now see a future at Cardiff City for Joe Ralls is if we get relegated and have to sell off our quality acquisitions.

I think if he wernt part of Malkys plans he would have been sold, going out on loan it seems malky knows he can develope and may be needed in the future

Seems like an ideal situation and no doubt we could call him back if needed?

Experience is important at such a young age, I maybe wrong but I get the impression Yeovil are a bit of a passing team so he should fit in well.

I respect your opinion but unfortunately I disagree with it, I think Ralls has a future with Cardiff but I guess only time will tell.

I get what everyone is saying but I do worry if he will be sold near future.

This is a standard loan so there will be no recall clause although it can be cancelled if all parties agree, like Drinkwater when he was with us.

I think it is sometimes easy to forget that this lad has made fantastic progress in the 2 years he has been with us and MM has had him around the first team squad pretty much from his 1st day at the club. He now needs to be playing on a regular basis and the Championship is just that so he can only benefit from this loan in my opinion.

Every player has his price but when you consider that we pinched Joe from under the noses of Fulham, a PL club, then others think he is a good prospect so going out on loan doesn't spell the end of his time at Cardiff.

Could well be the making of him.

Young Ralls needs to be playing football for his development, I think this is a good move for him and one which could benefit us in the long run :ayatollah:

Ambitious?
They got the lowest budget in the league they are far from the best club he could join in that division.

The most likely team to go down. I would have liked to see him in a stronger team.
