Crystal Palace sign ex-Rangers goalkeeper Neil Alexander on free transfer!

Crystal Palace have signed ex-Rangers goalkeeper Neil Alexander on a free transfer.

The keeper left the Scottish League One club at the end of last of season and becomes Palace’s third senior goalkeeper along with Julian Speroni and Lewis Price.

It is understood Palace wanted another experienced goalkeeper on their books in case of injuries and suspensions.

Alexander has three Scottish caps and made more than 50 appearances for Rangers. He has also played for Cardiff City, Ipswich Town and Livingston.

Was a great keeper for us back some years ago,not so sure now tho

Nowhere near good enough to be close to the premier league ,decent shotstopper when we had him but awful on crosses and,coming off his line and near post,and small for a goalkeeper ,remember seeing him in hmv and he is so slight in build

reminds me of Tom Heaton, will definitely get a good reception from us one of my favourite players for us

They don't need him and Alexander needs first team football so Alexander shouldn't have joined. Think of it this way though, each promoted team has a Scottish keeper!

An extremely weird signing, not sure if they still have Price but I think it's vital to have 3 GK's but Alexander was happy in Scotland etc I guess, near the end of his career. Would expect him to be a first teamer in League One or someone like Motherwell
