What will be the points difference between us and the Jacks?

Mon Aug 12, 2013 10:51 pm

Took a bet with a Mate last night who reckoned the Jacks would finish at least 15 points ahead of us :o Told him that i didn't think there would be more than 6 or 7 points and that I think there is a really possibility that we could finish above the Jacks :ayatollah: :old:

So realistically what does everyone think the points difference will be between us and the Jacks????

Not sure but don't care to much as long as we do well.

I think it will depends how far jacks do in Europe. Think the league form will be effected massively.

I think with the style of play that we play compared to Swansea makes us easier to beat. I feel like although our players work very hard for eachother when we lose the ball, we dont keep the ball long enough. I hope that with the new signings we have made we do adapt our style of play but I assume it is going to be similar to last season.

I think Swansea will finish above us but I dont think there will be much between us.

In my opinion it all depends how far Swansea progress in Europe. Last season the league cup had a considerable impact on Swansea in terms of playing extra games. Thus, the latter part of the season, Swansea were in relegation form.

Realistically, Swansea should be challenging for top 10; they're more established team than us in the premier league. On paper, Swansea are better team than us overall, but games are not played on paper and as season progresses many factors will contribute to teams form in the league.

I do hope Malky makes 2 signings and another 2 loan signings who have relative experience in the premier league, as our aim is survival. The major factor behind both teams new signings is how the both adapt to the premier league, especially Swansea's international signings.

To be honest as much as i would hate it I would take 2 defeats and finishing below the Jerks if it means we stay up because we will then go from strength to strength and soon over take those tramps from down the road :ayatollah: :D

8pts ahead of you

I've never really been anti-Swansea to be honest, except when we play them. I've always seen Bristol City as bigger rivals (which is why I hate that we've copied their colour! grrr)

Anyway, I think Swansea will have a fantastic year this year,I really do. I think they will have more than 15 points than us I'm afraid.

That's probably fair and means I would win my bet :D but with a couple more signings it's not inconceivable that we could finish a couple of points in front of you :old: :ayatollah:

Personally I think a better comparison would be looking at the squad we have now (or will have when a few more signings are made) and the squad that the Jacks had when they started their Premiership season.

I do not believe that they were promoted out of the championship with a better team than we had last year. They then brought in Vorm, Graham, Routledge, Lita, Bessone, Moreira, Situ and Tremmel, and had Caulker on loan. Compare the signings we have made already together with maybe 2 more expected and I really feel that we have much the better overall squad. I know only time will tell and they have a squad of players that has already adapted to the Premiership.

I would expect City to make more signings in January and offload those players that have looked out of their depth. I think it will be close come the end of the season with only a few points separating us and the Jacks. Could go either way.

That is my estimate too, but that should mean we stay up comfortably.

I'd rather win both games, finish ahead of them and go down as that would mean they'd probably finished bottom.

Worth it. :D

You have bought well fair play even if over the odds , you will have a strong first 11 if you can avoid injuries you will do well but your squad is IMO a bit lightweight
