Hypocrites

Sun Aug 11, 2013 8:19 pm

There are many threads on here praising the signings and quality of players we have brought in this season.

Yet many of the same people are ones that complain about the re-brand and about Tan.

You can't have it both ways. These signings were only possible cos of the money Tan invested and that money would not have been invested if the re-brand had not taken place.

You can't be happy that we are spending multi millions on players from a foreign owner but then claim to be against modern football.

For me your either against the re-brand and that means against the investment that comes with it as well. Or your going with it and coming along for the ride.

So you can't complain /disagree about the rebrand and praise the signings we've made ?

Why is it?

Of course you can be happy about the signings but dissapointed about the rebrand.

Like my dad was pleased I played football but was dissappointed I was a goalie.

Are you sure the money would have not been invested if the rebrand was extracted?

I've read some rubbish on this forum but this takes the biscuit! I will quite happily support my local team, including our new big money signings while wearing my blue to support our history, tradition and identity thanks!

No but considering Tan needed to get us to the premier to find other investors I'm confident to say that there would have been.

Let me reverse the question, do you know he would not?

What if someone is against Sky as an established company but likes Sky Sports as an independent service? One is of course in place because of the other, doesn't mean you cant have differentiating opinions on each...and thats coming from someone who is self proclaimed indifferent to the rebrand.

I didnt want to gamble on the future of the club I love.

Some obviously think its worth the risk

I hate it when people say this could have all been possible in blue, it couldn't have because they was not an option, tan made that Very clear.

Some people have short memories, and tactically time things. Why didn't BU do this last year? Because they wanted his money, now we are safe and in the prem it's no longer acceptable.

The rebrand IMO will always be the best and worst things to happen to this club, I accept the situation as it is.

BU started well before the season finished Luke. They were asked to refrain until the season was over.

Yes I know your feeling here Craig. I respect those.

Me, I was all for calling Tans bluff. I think there was only one other guy who supported me on this.

It should have started before the season started once the rebrand wad announced.

It seemed to start once we looked certain for promotion thanks to the money from the rebrand. This is what doesn't sit well with me.

Re: Hypocrites

I was torn at first regarding the rebranding but chose to get behind it and give vt the benefit of the dought with regards to taking Cardiff City too the Asian markets. He's a sound businessman who knows this market well and hopefully it'll bare fruit but may take a while . We need to stay in the premier league for this to happen hence why he's going to invest up to 50 million on players. An amazing sum for us .
The deal was struck 12 months ago and i can't see any u turn happening at this stage, way to late in the day Imo.Weve taken his money,it's now time to get behind him and support him not stab him in the back.

They are two seperate issues. You can support everything, but oppose the rebrand. You've decided that they are connected, but why not push for a return to blue? Why not try and engage with Tan and do that?
