FAO Netflix Users

Sun Aug 11, 2013 7:29 pm

If you are subscribing to Netflix UK then you can also use Chrome/Firefox extensions to hide your IP so that you can access the US version and watch the shows on there so more TV/Films for your money.

Install

http://hola.org/

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/deta ... meio?hl=en

I use Hola Unblocker on Chrome and its fine. You can set which sites to unblock so I have currently unblocked Netflix, CBS, FOX and Hulu.

I use it to unblock CBS so I can watch How I Met Your Mother in HD rather than on dodgy streaming sites. Hurts my eyes watching rubbish quality streams.

Just the one. Its the same extension. One is a link to the official Hola site and the other to the Chrome store for extensions. Its a free extension so download it and should be fairly easy what you can do. Seems a bit mad how it works but it does.

It is difficult to work out because some shows are the same on both. Best thing to do is go to the UK version by switching it off, look at the top list of say comedy films or stand up and then turn it back on. Then you should be able to see the difference when you refresh Netflix.

You'll know if its working if you go to CBS and try and play a show. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I use alternative DNS settings on my PS3 and Xbox 360 for Netflix due to my PC growing old. The US catalogue is so much better, and I no rarely find myself watching regular TV now. :D

Any chance of a quick lesson on how to adjust ps3 setting to allow this to work for me?

Cant see how this could work on the Ipad as you are super restricted with downloads, and therefore would'nt be able to add the neccessary IP address hiding software?? im sure JB will confirm

Don't think its possible on iPad mate as the browser is device specific and is Safari which is unsupported sorry mate.

Im sure the only way to do it on the iPad would be to jailbreak it and then using VPN type software to pretend you're elsewhere but I wouldn't bother. Its a reason I sold mine and got a Kindle Fire HD instead. For all its pros such as a great catalogue of applications it has terrible faults like the lack of flash support and tightly imposed restrictions.

Yeah downloaded Chrome but still can't do it. This is one of those occassions where Android beats Apple.

Top right corner by the address browser you should have a little flame symbol. Thats for Hola Unblocker. Click on that and then on settings and from there you will see a list of all the currently supported sites. I dont think ABC is on there.

For ABC use mediahint

https://mediahint.com/

I dont use it as nothing on ABC I want to watch that I cant get elsewhere. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:
